The NFL Draft officially gets underway on Thursday night in Green Bay.

As things stand, the Giants remain in a good spot with the third overall pick on the board.

Who they will select remains to be seen, but they’ve connected to numerous different star-studded prospects over the past few months.

Two of them were asked about possibly landing in the Big Apple on Wednesday…

Carter feeling New York at the moment

Abdul Carter is expected to land somewhere in the top four of the draft.

The star Penn State pass rusher is so confident in that that he only took pre-draft meetings with the top-four teams on the board.

After those, which team does he have the best feeling about landing with heading into Thursday?

“Definitely New York right now, but we’ll see what happens,” he said.

There’s been plenty of buzz around the Giants taking a QB over the past few months -- but those talks have quickly cooled down and the consensus in the latest mock drafts has them landing on a top edge-rusher in Carter.

While they already have plenty of weapons on their defensive line, adding a game-changing potential All-Pro pass rusher to the mix would help take them to another level.

“You can never have enough pass rushers,” Carter said. “Having that threat, that’s how championships are won -- having that pass rush being able to rush with three, four, or five, that’s all good.”

The 21-year-old finished with 12 sacks in an All-American season with the Nittany Lions.

Milroe would welcome the opportunity

If the Giants do decide to go Carter or another non-QB at No. 3, they could look to take one elsewhere in the draft.

Numerous reports over the past couple of weeks have indicated that Big Blue could be looking to trade back into the backend of the first round or up a few picks in the second to guarantee the QB of their choice.

One of the names connected to them: Alabama’s Jalen Milroe

The 22-year-old said there’s “no doubt” he’d welcome the idea of landing in the Big Apple.

“It’s been fun building a relationship with them,” he said. “This is a team I’ve spent a lot of time with and have communicated with. Learning their system, being able to see their plays and see how they run it, it’s been great.”

Milroe also mentioned that there’s been a good connection between himself and head coach Brian Daboll -- who served as Nick Saban’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach with the Crimson Tide a few years before he was there.

While the Giants do have a pair of veterans on the roster in Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, the dual-threat gunslinger said he’d have “no issue” sitting behind them and learning early on in his career.

“I respect every starting quarterback in the NFL,” he said. “I know what it takes to lead an organization -- I played at Alabama, there’s something special about leading that script A and understanding the meaning behind it, so I respect all the guys starting.

“With so much knowledge in that room, why not learn and grow? It’s going to be a lot of fun. And it’s also shared success. No matter who is the quarterback in that room -- we all share the same logo.”
