As the Giants hit the practice fields on Thursday, wide receiver Sterling Shepard remained in the league's concussion protocol.
Shepard entered the protocol following Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, and is reportedly doing "okay" according to head coach Pat Shurmur.
Shepard finished Week 1 with six catches for 42 yards, third most on the team behind Evan Engram's 116 and Cody Latimer's 74.
The Giants entered the season slim at wide receiver to begin with, considering free agent acquisition Golden Tate is serving a four-game PED suspension. Now, the Giants head into Week 2 against a very stingy Buffalo defense even shorter at the position.
Aside from just Shepard, Latimer was added to the Giants' injury report on Thursday with a calf injury, while Darius Slayton also missed practice with a hamstring injury.
The way things currently stand, the Giants are down to just Bennie Fowler, Russell Shepard, TJ Jones, and Cody Core as healthy receiving options.
