Mark Sanchez seems to be taking his "Butt Fumble" saga in stride, but Plaxico Burress is still firing his shots.

The former Giants receiver caught Sanchez in his crosshairs Wednesday, two days after the quarterback added another butt-centric fumble play to his repertoire in his debut with the Redskins.

"I can't wait to see this QB play for the Washington Redskins for the rest of the season," Burress tweeted. "@mark_sanchez Let me grab my popcorn. #comedyfor3hours #checkdowning Yup I said it!!"

Sanchez came into the game against the Eagles after Colt McCoy, who had taken over for injured Alex Smith as the starter, left with a season-ending leg injury. Sanchez is now slated to start against the Giants on Sunday.

Burress' rip appeared to come out of nowhere, but he reportedly has a history of blasting Sanchez going back to their season as Jets teammates in 2011.

According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, players and coaches from that team said Burress "would sit in the back of meeting rooms and rip Mark Sanchez."

Now the criticism comes straight from social media. To Burress' delight, there's likely plenty of football left for Sanchez this season.

But if Sanchez is looking to hit back, Burress provides plenty of low-hanging fruit. So low that it reaches his foot.
