After the Mets launched seven home runs in their 11-4 win over the Phillies, Francisco Lindor simply stated, "we got our pitches and we didn't miss them." Brandon Nimmo, who along with Juan Soto went deep twice, called it "crazy" to hit that many homers in a game but knows they have focus on trying to get a series win on Sunday.  Soto said it was "cool" to come through for the team but also talked about following it up with a win on Sunday.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza sensed a breakout was finally coming and Saturday night, his team blasted seven home runs in an 11-4 win over the Phillies to end a seven-game losing skid. Mendoza cited the top  of the Mets lineup for leading the way with Francisco Lindor, Brandon Nimmo and Juan Soto combining to hit five HRs and drive in nine RBI.

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza breaks down the fateful seventh inning that saw the Phillies pummel New York's bullpen for six runs to break open a tie game and hand the Mets their seventh consecutive defeat, 10-2. Mendoza saw his team tie the game in the sixth inning on back-to-back solo home runs from Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil but the Phillies responded by overwhelming the Mets in the seventh. The manager also touched on Blade Tidwell's second major league start and why he opted to pull him with two outs in the fourth inning.

After the Yankees' comeback win against the Orioles on Sunday, Jazz Chisholm discussed his shoeless streak home, Paul Goldschmidt talked making the most of his rare pinch-running opportunity, and Aaron Boone touched on all of the events that led to the Yankees taking the series against Baltimore.

Yankees starter Clarke Schmidt felt he needed to attack the strike zone more aggressively and he saw it pay off against the Orioles on Saturday afternoon, throwing seven innings without allowing a hit in a 90 win. While Schmidt was tempted to try and complete the no-no, his pitch count was already at 103 so he wisely took "the big picture" approach. Former Yankee Gary Sanchez singled off reliever JT Brubaker to spoil the no hitter but catcher J.C. Escarra was impressed with Schmidt's performance nonetheless. Shortstop Anthony Volpe called the outing "incredible" and was not the least bit surprised at how he dominated the Orioles lineup.

Reliever Luke Weaver's return to the Yankees bullpen was not an auspicious one, surrendering the go-ahead HR to Baltimore's Ramon Urias in a 5-3 loss. He termed it "devastating" saying he felt good physically but will have to bounce back from a tough loss. Starter Max Fried wasn't his usual pinpoint self either, allowing a pair of runs in the first inning. While captain Aaron Judge did belt his 27th home run of the season, he lamented some scoring opportunities that the team failed to cash in on.

SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino says while the Yankees were frustrated with their offensive numbers over their recent six-game skid, manager Aaron Boone and the coaching staff were confident that the team's struggles would be short-lived. Thursday afternoon the Yanks unleashed a 12-hit attack in their 7-3 win over the Angels and hope the resurgence continues as they face Baltimore for a weekend series.
