As John Schuhmann of NBA.com points out, Mo Williams won't be an easy player for the Clippers to trade. The Clippers have until Friday to amnesty the 28 year old guard, who is set to make $8.5M in 2012. Some NBA analysts suggest teams do not rush to use the amnesty in the first year of its existence considering the clause is a one time deal. Teams can only use their amnesty once throughout the ten year CBA (Knicks have already used it on Chauncey Billups).

If the Knicks need to make the trade after losing out on Crawford and Williams, do they risk the player option on Mo?

In the Tyson Chandler sign-and-trade the Knicks acquired the rights to the Mavericks former second round draft pick, Ahmad Nivins. Nivins, a 6-9 forward from St. Josephs. Nivins, nicknamed "Slim," was the Atlantic 10 Player of The Year and an honorable mention on the Associated Press All-American list in 2009. Weighing in at 242 pounds, Nivins last played in Belgium. He is currently 24 years old, but as a senior NBADraft.net wrote this write up:

Strengths:?Agile forward with excellent speed running the floor ... A defensive minded player who takes great pride in his ability to defend Fundamentally sound rebounding technique with a knack for timing the ball off the glass A presence as a shot blocker, his athleticism and good lateral quickness allow him to defend out to the perimeter and be a good on-ball defender . Strong leaper, he can really rise Takes the charge well.Cleans up the offensive glass, as evidenced by the fact that close to 60% of his rebounds this year are on the offensive end Nice back-to-the basket moves down low. At just 19 he has a lot of physical depelopment left. Shows a lot of untapped potential ...

These are my fingers typing the keys with the love and passion for Knicks basketball.

I can't tell you how good this feels.

Ok, now that that's done, it's time to get down to business and as we've learned time and time again, that business is the game of basketball. Knicks basketball.
