Troy Brown, a 2017 wing from Centennial High in Las Vegas, recently cut his list to a final eight consisting of Arizona, Alabama, California, Georgetown, Kansas, Ohio State, Oregon, and UNLV.

On Saturday, the five-star announced via Twitter that Alabama, Georgetown, Kansas, Ohio State, and Oregon would receive his five official visits.

Brad Davison, the 6-foot-2 Class of 2017 Maple Grove (MN) combo guard, pulled the trigger on Monday when he committed to Greg Gard and the Wisconsin Badgers over Northwestern, Stanford and others.

Less than two weeks before his commitment, Davison visited the Madison campus.

"The thing about Wisconsin is I was able to meet the players, meet all the coaches face to face," he said. "I was able to meet Coach (Howard) Moore for the first time face to face. I think the biggest thing for them is the familiarity. I've known coach (Greg) Gard since I was a freshman, I've known Coach (Joe) Krabbenhoft when he was at South Dakota State, ever since I was a freshman, so I have a really strong relationship with both of them."

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - With the emergence of Tyler Ulis, short is no longer a concern when it comes to elite point guards in the NCAA. Ulis tore up the college scene during his sophomore season, earning consensus first-team All-American honors, winning the coveted Bob Cousy Award and being named the SEC Player of the Year above the overall No. 1 NBA Draft pick, Ben Simmons.

For South Kent (CT) 2017 four-star point guard Tremont Waters, being overlooked because of his size became a factor early on in his playing career.

"The beginning of my sophomore year I felt that way," Waters said. "But my parents just stayed in my head, Coach (Kelvin) Jefferson from South Kent (CT), they just pretty much told me to keep working. There are a bunch of small guards out there and all the schools that need to see me will see me."

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. -- Findlay Prep (NV) and Team Penny (EYBL) 2017 five-star forward P.J. Washington had a team-high 22 points to go with 12 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks as Team Penny dominated Pro Skills (TX) with an 81-61 win at the EYBL Peach Jam Thursday morning.

Asked what he's working on, Washington was definitive and precise in the skill sets he wants to develop.

"My ball handling and my perimeter jumper," Washington said. "I just want to be comfortable playing the perimeter and playing the inside. So if I have a big on me, I'll go outside and if I have a small on me, I'll go inside."

For 5-foot 11-inch, 170 pound point guard Markus Howard, change is possibly in the wind.

Only six players remain uncommitted in the 247Sports 2016 Composite Player rankings. That number could change prior to the regular signing period -- which begins on April 13 -- depending on a final decision by Howard on a potential reclassification from 2017 to 2016.

For now, that decision is on hold as the the four-star floor general out of Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep, Nevada focuses on his three remaining official visits.
