HOUSTON -- Markus Howard, a 5-foot-11 point guard from Findlay Prep, announced he will reclass to the Class of 2016 from 2017 and head to Marquette next season.

Howard, a four-star point guard, also considered Arizona State, Baylor and Central Arkansas, where his brother Jordan averaged 20 points per game as a sophomore this season.

"I choose to play basketball at Marquette University," he announced on this video below. "Come fly with me."

UNLV landed a big-time commit Monday night when they received a verbal pledge from Justin Jackson, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound 2016 small forward from?Findlay Prep.

The Toronto native and No. 4 small forward in the 247Sports Composite rankings, Jackson said he also considered Louisville, Illinois and Arizona, but chose UNLV because of his relationship with head coach Dave Rice and assistant Todd Simon, the former Findlay Prep coach.

"I fell in love with UNLV from the first time I saw it," Jackson said by phone.

NEW YORK --?For some high school players,?playing two games in less than 24 hours can be exhausting and limit one's ability to perform in the second game, but you'd never know it from watching Kelly Oubre play Thursday in his Findlay Prep (NV) team's 67-59 win over Rainier Beach (WA).

Oubre, the 6-foot-7 wing who is heading to Kansas next season, finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds after playing 18 minutes in the McDonald's All-American game in Chicago Wednesday night. He is ranked 11th in the Class of 2014 on ESPN?and will essentially be replacing Andrew Wiggins, who declared for the NBA Draft a couple days ago.

While the eyes of the college basketball world will turn this week to the Final Four in North Texas, many of the future stars of college hoops will be on display in New York City.

The DICK'S Sporting Goods High School National Tournament (formerly the National High School Invitational) features seven of the top eight ranked boys teams by USA Today.

The boys field includes defending NHSI Champion and No. 1-ranked Montverde Academy (FL), coached by former St. Patrick coach Kevin Boyle, as well as three different 2014 State Champions: Northside Christian Academy from North Carolina, The Sagemont School from Florida and Rainier Beach High School from Washington.

Findlay Prep shooting guard Rashad Vaughn?will announce his college choice on Tuesday between 6-7 p.m. EST on CBS College Sports Network.

The 6-foot-5 Vaughn is considering UNLV, Kentucky, Iowa St, and North Carolina, but is widely expected to choose either UNLV or Iowa State.

Having cut his list to seven schools, Rashad Vaughn has three official visits set and is working on determining the other two.

The 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep has visits set to Baylor (Oct. 18), Iowa State (Nov. 17) and UNLV (Nov. 25). He is also considering taking officials to Kansas, Arizona and North Carolina. Minnesota is the seventh school on his list, and Vaughn has already been there unofficially.

"I'm going to try to fit it in," he told SNY.tv of his remaining two officials from USA Basketball in Colorado Springs, Colo. "I don't know for sure which one I'm going to do, though."

Jerome Williams, a former NBA player known as the "Junkyard Dog" and whose career included a stint with the Knicks, is the new head coach at Henderson (NV) Findlay Prep, multiple sources told SNY.tv.

Williams, a Georgetown alum and?volunteer assistant the last two seasons, takes over for Todd Simon, who recently took a job as an assistant with UNLV.

?I?ve been offered NBA jobs, coaching jobs, front-office jobs, and I?ve turned them down,? Williams told the Las Vegas Review Journal before he took the job. ?The job itself isn?t really the attraction. It?s more or less the people. Troy Williams of Phoebus (Va.) High will spend his senior season at vaunted powerhouse Oak Hill Academy, while fellow 2013 star Allerik Freeman with play for Findlay Prep.

"He's a combo forward, he can play the three/four," Oak Hill coach Steve Smith said of Williams in confirming the news. "His deficiency, if he has one, is his outside shot. He thinks he needs to make a few changes on his shot.

Montrose Christian became the first school other than Findlay Prep to win the ESPN Rise National High School Invitational Saturday.

Villanova-bound Tyrone Johnson of Plainfield, N.J., scored 21 points to lead No. 1 Montrose Christian over No. 2 Oak Hill Academy, 71-64 in double-overtime, in the championship game at Georgetown Prep in Bethesda, Md.

Montrose won the earlier matchup this season, 70-62, in double-OT.

Findlay Prep will remain associated with The Henderson International School in Las Vegas and will seek its third straight high school national championship in the 2010-11 season.

"We were able to work it out most recently," Findlay Prep coach Michael Peck said Wednesday night. "We're staying right where we are under Henderson International on our same campus. We were fortunate enough that we're going to fall under the same umbrella. It made it a lot easier and a lot nicer for us, obviously."

Henderson announced in February that it would shut down its high school programs due to financial difficulties, casting doubt on the future of the national powerhouse basketball team.
