The talent drain from the New York continued on Wednesday when Class of 2017 wing Jordan Tucker announced he will transfer to Marietta (Ga.) Wheeler from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac.

NEW YORK -- Jordan Tucker plans to cut his list later this summer, possibly after Peach Jam.

"I'm trying to cut my list after that, to six, eight the most," the 6-foot-7 wing from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac told SNY.tv on Wednesday at Rens practice in Manhattan.

Tucker holds offers from a slew of high-majors, including Arizona, Syracuse, UConn, St. John's, Maryland, Indiana, Oklahoma State, Marquette and Georgia Tech.

Jordan Tucker received a late invitation to the USA Basketball U18 training camp in Colorado Springs, Co., and now finds himself competing against a loaded field.

"It's hard to get touches here, you just gotta play hard," the 6-foot-7 Class of 2017 wing from White Plains (N.Y.) Archbishop Stepinac told SNY.tv by phone Wednesday night. "Guards [are dominating] and the big men get their dunks, you know how that goes. You just gotta knock down open shots, which I haven't been doing so far."

The finalists for the U18 team are set to be announced Thursday.

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Jordan Tucker's summer schedule got thrown into disarray on Wednesday when he received a late invitation to the USA Basketball U18 training camp beginning June 14 in Colorado Springs, Co.

But the 6-foot-7 Tucker is happy to have the scheduling problem on his hands.

"It's hard because they extended the school year so I don't finish school until June 10," Tucker told me Thursday at the Frankie Williams Classic held at his own Archbishop Stepinac High School. "I want to rest and get ready so I can perform well out there."

NEW YORK -- With St. John's assistant Matt Abdelmassih and Villanova assistant Kyle Neptune watching Thursday night at St. Raymond's High School, Jordan Tucker's junior season came to a close.

It was a rough night for the 6-foot-7 Tucker, who was battling a right shoulder injury that kept him out of practice for most of the week. He finished with seven points as Archbishop Stepinac fell to Holy Cross 77-60 in the second round of the CHSAA playoffs.

Tucker did not start the game. Stepinac head coach Patrick Massaroni said it was because of a "team discipline issue." Tucker said he was benched because of the missed practice time he suffered after the injury.

NEW YORK --- Word of God (N.C.) senior guard Rawle Alkins and Archbishop Stepinac junior wing Jordan Tucker would potentially have been the two best scorers on the floor for St. John's on Sunday against Villanova.

With Alkins, Tucker and a handful of other notable prospects sitting courtside -- as well as tennis legend John McEnroe and Yankees GM Brian Cashman -- the Red Storm were thrashed by the No. 6 Wildcats, 68-53, at Madison Square Garden, extending the St. John's losing streak to 12 games.

"As a collective group, we know we played good but it's just being consistent," Red Storm redshirt junior Christian Jones said. "To bring that into the second half."
