Texas was at Oak Hill on Monday, while Duke's Jon Scheyer and Nate James and coaches from Stanford are expected Tuesday.

Oak Hill Academy point guard Matt Coleman has officially cut his list to five schools -- the same five to which he will take official visits.

Coleman, who won a gold medal with the USA U18 team this summer, is down to Duke (Sept. 16), Stanford (Sept. 30), Kansas (Oct. 15), Syracuse (Oct. 22) and Texas (Oct. 29).

On Tuesday evening, Matt Coleman wasn't certain he would make the 12-man roster for the USA Basketball U18 team.

After all, three Class of 2017 point guards were in the mix for the final 12 spots in Coleman, Quade Green and Trae Young.

"We're going at it, man, we're all competing to get on that 12-man roster," Coleman, a 6-foot-2 floor general from Oak Hill Academy (VA) told me by phone Tuesday before the cuts were made. "We'll see how it goes [Tuesday night]."

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- Matt Coleman, a 6-foot-2 Class of 2017 point guard Oak Hill Academy (VA), is being recruited by many of the top programs in the nation but is in no rush to make a decision.

"Oregon just offered [last Thursday] but I'm still open," he said at the Hoophall Classic. "I don't plan on cutting my list [any] time soon. Probably [during] AAU season but I'm still open to anybody willing to recruit me."

Coleman has interest from Cal and Kansas and thinks they might offer soon.
