GARDEN GROVE, Calif. -- Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Trent Jr. reiterated that they still plan to attend college together.

"A package deal is still the plan," Carter Jr. told SNY.tv Friday at the Adidas Nations event here, reiterating comments Trent Jr. made earlier this month at Peach Jam.

The 6-foot-6 Trent, who hopes to cut his list after Adidas Nations, also has the package deal on his mind, saying, "The package deal is most definitely on. He was actually my roommate at the Nike Academy and he's my roommate before we go, so we have continue to bond and grow as people."

Wendell Carter Jr., who recently won a gold medal with the USA U17 team and was named to the All-Star Five Team at the U17 World Championship in Spain, has cut his list to eight schools.

Wendell Carter, the No. 1 power forward in the Class of 2017, met Wednesday night with Harvard coach Tommy Amaker, who is hoping the big man chooses the Crimson over Duke and others.

He also visited Georgia on Monday and will trip to Alabama on Saturday for the football game with LSU.

"Harvard was very interesting and a definite consideration for Wendell," Carter's mother, Kylie Carter, told SNY.tv. "The message: Attend an institution that can give you more than you give them. And Wendell also said he has thought about Coach Amaker's favorite quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson…'Don't go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.'"

CHICAGO -- The way top prospect Gary Trent Jr. is playing this week at the Nike Global Challenge, he should have no problem gaining the attention of any big-time program. Coaches aren't the only ones interested in making Trent a member of their team, though.

The Minnesota native reiterated that he and fellow Class of 2017 prospect Wendell Carter Jr. have discussed becoming a package deal, committing to the same school with the goal of winning in March. The two previously told SNY.tv about the idea earlier this summer during USA Basketball U16 tryouts.

"It's very serious," Trent said Friday. "I knew of Wendell [before], but the opportunity that we had together at USA Basketball, we became closer together. We were just in the hot tub one day and we were talking. It was like, 'hey man, we should go to college together… we could win the national championship.'
