New Giants? offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said he would like to implement an attack-style system into Big Blue?s offense for next season and beyond.

After watching the offensive unit struggle all year, McAdoo?s words are music to my ears.

However, an attack-style offense on paper is of course different from an attack-style offense in action.

Each week, I will be taking a look at the Giants? media notes to pull out some interesting facts about the upcoming opponent.

In Week 11, the Giants (3-6) host the Green Bay Packers (5-4), who lost last week to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sunday?s game will be the 52nd regular season game between these two teams, and the Packers hold the lead with a 27-22-2 all-time mark.

Even with four teams in the NFC having off this past week, there was still some outcomes that affected my rankings. Seattle was able to turnaround a disastrous start against Tampa Bay and inch out a victory in overtime against the still winless Buccaneers; keeping them at the top spot in the NFC. The Saints however, were not so lucky as they suffered a stunning loss to the New York Jets on the road and showed that Drew Brees is indeed human. More importantly, the Green Bay Packers were without their star QB Aaron Rodgers for a majority of their Monday night loss against the Chicago Bears and will lose Rodgers for several weeks with a broken collarbone; shaking up the rankings even more. Here are my NFC Power Rankings for week 9...

?1. Seattle Seahawks?(8-1):?The Seahawks have been cutting it close when it comes down to these games. Each week they have been on the brink of defeat, and this week was no different. Down 21 points to the winless Buccaneers, all signs pointed to Seattle facing their first defeat at home since 2011. But the Seahawks and QB Russell Wilson were able to muster up a stunning comeback and leave CenturyLink Stadium with an overtime victory, keeping their streak at home alive. This team has shown tremendous resilience when they needed it the most. RB Marshawn Lynch had?his way with the Tampa Bay defense, carrying the ball 21 times for 121 yards. Should?Seattle be worried? I don't think so.?The way the Seahawks have strung together this steak is amazing and?when their backs have been up against the wall, even?against teams like the Rams and Buccaneers, they have found a way to walk away with a victory. This team is STILL the cream of the crop in the NFC.?Ranking last week: 1

We will be doing positional breakdowns of each of the Giants? units this week, with my responsibility focusing on offense.

I?ll start with the easy one: quarterback.

Eli Manning maybe had a sub-par year according to his standards, but he still played well enough to earn a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster, albeit as a replacement.

Giants? quarterback Eli Manning has been named to NFC Pro Bowl roster in place of Packers? quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is choosing to skip the game with a number of injuries.

The selection is Manning?s third for his career, but he did not play in last year?s game since the Giants were preparing to play in the Super Bowl.

This season, Manning threw for 3,948 yards at a 60 percent completion rate, 26 touchdowns and 15 interceptions.

We?ve been spoiled, Giants? fans.

Every weekend since Nov. 21, 2004, Eli Manning has suited up as the Giants? quarterback.

That?s a nine-year stretch and 135 consecutive regular season games, with an additional 11 playoff games. That streak is the longest among active quarterbacks and fourth longest overall behind Ronde Barber (215), London Fletcher (195) and Brandon Moore (137).

When the Giants traded up to get Eli Manning with the No. 1 overall pick in 2004, New York was abuzz that Peyton Manning?s younger brother would be taking snaps for Big Blue.

Even if Eli never shaped up to be as good as Peyton, he was still a Manning and has a bright future ahead of him.

Eli started his career backing up Kurt Warner, who led the Giants to a 5-4 record in 2004. However, the organization felt it was the right time for Manning to take over.

Fourth Quarter:

- Two Giants are injured on the Aaron Rodgers scramble play; Kenny Phillips and JPP are slow to get up. Phillips seems to be down with a right leg injury, which should be cause for concern given his long list of leg issues.

- Chase Blackburn stays stride for stride with Finley and knocks down Rodgers' 4th down attempt. The Giants offense scoring touchdowns has afforded the defense to play its style of football.

They have a great front four. They really get after the passer. More than their front four, they have other guys that they can bring in to rush. It?s a talented defense. We?re going to have to be ready.

Midway through the NFL season, New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is making a case for the NFL's MVP.

No, do not make a pedestrian performance yesterday v. the Cowboys taint his overall season.

This is how Manning stacks up against other viable candidates.

The Giants turned the tables on the Packers tonight, playing a clean game and not allowing the Packers to do what they do best - create turnovers and cash them in for points. Instead, it was the Giants who did the cashing in.

Had the officials done their job better, this would have been a shocking blowout in the Blue's favor. The Giants still dominated the action in lieu of it all.

Aaron Rodgers may be the league MVP this year, but Eli Manning was the top dog in this game, registering a 114.5 QB rating to Rodgers' 78.5. ?He threw three TDs to Rodgers' two and his Giants had five plays of 20 yards or more. The Packers, famous for their quick strikes that go for big yardage, only had two plays of 20 or more yards.

I don?t see any reason to stray from a formula that has been working. Especially when it is extremely appropriate for this particular scenario. So while I don?t intend to be too agitated today, I will be utilizing yet another comparison to the 2007 championship season.

In 2006, Tiki Barber served as the face of an underwhelming Giants franchise. In the fall of 2005 (a season in which he would break off a 95 yard run and accrue 235 rushing yards in a single game), he would accompany Jeremy Shockey to the bedside of a dying Wellington Mara. The two were described as the football patriarch?s favorite current stars.

But after years of serving as the lightening rod for an otherwise underachieving offense, Barber abruptly left pro football. His departure left a significant hole in the Giants roster. The hole was not much unlike the one that Jerry Reese found himself staring at when Steve Smith hobbled out the door and into the Eagles arms.

With a league-leading 122.5 passer rating to go along with an insanely good 45 touchdowns and only six interceptions, he?s arguably the best passer in football (although Drew Brees and Tom Brady have had plenty to say about that this season).

But, when Aaron Rodgers takes the field on Sunday to try to lead his top-seed Green Bay Packers (15-1) over the fourth-seeded New York Giants (10-7) and into the NFC championship game, it will be the first game action for the star quarterback in three weeks.

Super Bowl XLV - Packers 31, Steelers 25

As predicted, Super Bowl XLV was entertaining more than anything else.? A traditional clash where three-yards-a-cloud-of-dust is a thing of the past in the NFL in this day and age.

America has been spoiled. The past three Super Bowls have each provided an enthralling football contest. The games were not decided until the final minutes (or in two cases the final minute), they were classic bouts worthy of permanent enshrinement in the archives of football history.

Because of this trio, it may be easy to forget that all too often; the best post-season action is served up during the Conference Championship round. 1998, for example, saw the Broncos edge out a valiant Jets effort as the Falcons upset the favored Vikings in a thriller. The Super Bowl that these two games spawned was far from memorable.

Some people will bet on anything these days......

Prop bets - or proposition bets - have been around since the beginning of time. They are wager opportunities that organically arise during special events, such as the Super Bowl.

For instance, when David confronted Goliath, some prop bets could have been: how many stones will it take to bring Goliath down? Which way will he fall - forward or backward? Etc, etc, etc....

Not even Brett Favre ever did this for the Green Bay Packer faithful.

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was nearly flawless at the Georgia Dome on Saturday night, completing 31 of 36 passes for 366 yards and three touchdowns, while avoiding a turnover, leading sixth-seeded Green Bay (12-6) to a 48-21 thrashing of the top-seeded Atlanta Falcons (13-4).

What was expected to be a rematch reminder of the Falcons? 20-17 win over the Packers in the final seconds in Atlanta in Week 12 became a record night for Rodgers and Green Bay.

The NFC Divisional Playoffs will take place this weekend with a combination of teams that no one - and I mean no one - could have predicted before the season.

Only one of the top four preseason NFC favorites to win Super Bowl XLV are still alive: the sixth-seeded Green Bay Packers.? They were listed as second favorites by Bodog at 12-1 along with the Minnesota Vikings and the Dallas Cowboys.

Since the Philadelphia Eagles made their historic 21-point 4th quarter comeback against the Giants on Dec 19, they failed to win another game.

Yesterday in Philadelphia, the Green Bay Packers, who slammed the Giants the week after the Eagles did, exposed the Eagles as playoff frauds. The Packers took an early lead and never lost it, winning 21-16 and eliminating the Eagles from the postseason.

In the end, Philadelphia turned out to be a team that could only beat one other top NFC contender - the sloppy, benevolent Giants. When they play a team that hangs onto the football - like Green Bay - they become very ordinary....

1. Aaron Rodgers

The man who succeeded Brett Favre in Green Bay is set to return after missing a game and a half with a concussion. After a breakout season in 2009, Rodgers is again proving that he was worth the wait. He has thrown 23 touchdowns to ten interceptions with a 65.4% and a QB rating of 98.5

Rodgers is certainly no Michael Vick, but he's actually one of the better rushing QBs in the NFL. The 6-2, 225 pounder has rushed for 13 touchdowns dating back to 2008. I'm not suggesting the Giants should have someone spy him, but they should just realize that they need to worry about more than his rocket arm. The Packers' run game as a whole is pedestrian, so Rodgers may actually be their biggest threat on the ground.

According to ESPN Milwaukee, Aaron Rodgers has been cleared to face the Giants this Sunday.

This week's game just got a lot tougher. With Matt Flynn at QB, the Packers were one play away from beating the Patriots, a team many believe is the NFL's best.

Now they'll have Rodgers, one of the league's best QBs, back for what may very well be an elimination game for the final wild card spot.
