Four offensive turnovers were the storyline of the Giants? loss this past Sunday to the Bengals. However, defensive coordinator Perry Fewell was not pleased with how his unit played as a whole.

On the very first series, Andy Dalton connected with A.J. Green on a 56-yard touchdown in which the Giants? secondary looked completely lost.

Fewell said there were actually two blunders on that play.

It wasn?t the defense?s fault that the Giants suffered a 31-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, who had lost their previous four games.

The Bengals only extended scoring drive that resulted in a touchdown came on their very first possession, when Andy Dalton hit A.J. Green on a 56-yard strike. The Giants secondary looked confused on the play, but other than that blunder, the defense actually turned in a decent effort.

The problem was that the Bengals kept starting with great field position fueled by Giants? offensive turnovers or giving up big special teams? plays.

So Bengals' WR ?AJ Green told everyone the emperor had no clothes yesterday, and the emperor woke out of his daze. All the kid said was the Giants' defense has "holes" in it. ?It's like asking a five-year-old what color suit Santa Claus wears. It's a no-brainer.

The Giants took umbrage to the remarks, as they should. They needn't take their frustrations out on Green, however. Just go take a look in the mirror. This defense is leaky. It shows on the stat sheet and in the films, which are now available to every layman in the land thanks to the NFL selling them online.

"The game has to be played on Sunday and if he sees holes, hopefully he?ll find them," said safety Antrel Rolle, "We don?t worry too much about talk or what?s being said. We?ll see come Sunday."

Today on the Boomer and Caron Show on WFAN, Cincinnati Bengals' WR AJ Green had this to say about the Giants' defense:

?I feel like they?ve got a lot of holes in their defense....Their front four, they get so much pressure on the quarterback. A lot of people don?t have that much time to get the big plays on them.?

Nothing wrong with the young man's eyesight. The Giants are a kill-or-be-killed defense. If they don't get to the QB, as Bill Chadwick would say: "Katy, bar the door!" It's no mistake their games resemble a Hearns-Hagler fight. Haymaker city. If their offense whiffs on few, they get hammered by the media. The defense keeps getting a pass.
