the first American Athletic Conference Championship game will be held on Dec. 5 at noon at a campus site the league announced on Thursday.

The league meetings are set this week for the American in Florida and with the inclusion of Navy into the conference this fall, the league will hold a championship game between both divisional winners.

The game will be noon and televised on either ABC or ESPN.

The American Athletic Conference will play a game in Orlando against the Sun Belt in a new game, called the Cure Bowl, the league announced today.

The bowl game will be at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, which is undergoing renovations. The Capitol One Bowl and the Russell Athletic Bowls are already played there making it three bowl games at the site.

The game is going to be associated and raise money for organizations that work with patients and to find a cure for breast cancer.

UConn senior guard Shabazz Napier was named to Wooden Award midseason list comprising of the top 30 players in the nation.

Among this list, the Wooden Award winner will be picked.

Napier leads the Huskies in three categories as a 6-foot-1 point guard averaging 17.3 points, 5.5 assists and 5.9 rebounds. He is one of four American Athletic Conference players on the list along with Louisville's Russ Smith , Cincinnati's Sean Kilpatrick and Memphis senior Joe Jackson.

The American Athletic Conference announced bowl tie-ins with four ESPN generated bowl games on Thursday.

The league re-upped with the Beef 'O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg and also the BBVA Compass bowl in Birmingham, Ala.

The league also announced a deal with two other bowls; the Armed Forces Bowl in Forth Worth, Texas and the Hawaii Bowl in Honolulu. The conference will send a team to either the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in 2014, 2016 and 2018 or the Sheraton Hawaii Bowl in Honolulu, Hawaii in 2015, 2017 and 2019.
