A Chinese website reported?Andray Blatche is headed to China to play for the Xinjiang Flying Dragons (NetsDaily, Sept. 20)

Blatche opted out of his contract with the Nets in July and was unable to land with another NBA team. Blatche's move is "a done deal," according to a NetsDaily source. Blatche didn't attract strong interest despite his FIBA World Cup performance for the Phillippines. He averaged 21.2 points (second-best in the event) and tournament-best 13.8 rebounds.

Blatche's Nets tenure was marked by controversy. A woman claimed she was sexually assaulted by Blatche's friends in his hotel room, but she said Blatche was not involved and he was not charged. Blatche took a "personal leave" from the Nets last December said to be tied to conditioning and lifestyle.

The Nets defeated the Memphis Grizzlies to climb over the .500 mark for the first time this season.

On the strength of a 30-point quarter to start the game, and a 33-point quarter coming out of halftime, Brooklyn was able to get the best of a good defensive Memphis team.

In 16 minutes off the bench, Andray Blatche shot a team-best 66.7 percent from the field, with four rebounds, three blocks, and two assists, including this memorable play.

The Nets announced this morning that Andrei Kirilenko is doubtful for tonight's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, and Andray Blatche will be a game-time decision.

Blatche is dealing with bruised left hip, an injury originally suffered Friday night against Oklahoma City. He sat out of Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers.

Kirilenko has missed Brooklyn's last two games due to a sore calf muscle in his right leg. Kirilenko also?missed 26 games earlier this season due to bouts of back spasms.

The Nets announced today that reserve center Andray Blatche will miss the next four games due to personal reasons, including tonight's game against the Bucks.

Blatche will not travel on the Nets' three-game road trip to Indiana, San Antonio and Oklahoma City, and he's expected to rejoin the team sometime after the new year.

The Nets will use a starting lineup of Shaun Livingston, Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett tonight as they play Milwaukee with a short rotation.

In the wake of Brook Lopez's season-ending injury, the Nets' big men need to elevate their game for Brooklyn to weather this perfect storm.

Scoring: D

Since Lopez went down, Kevin Garnett has been installed as the starting center, with Andray Blatche and Mason Plumlee backing him up, primarily. KG has struggled offensively in general this season, averaging 6.7 points per game on 37.2% shooting from the field, both career-lows by far. Additionally, in the past two games starting at center, Garnett has really struggled, shooting just 5-of-17 (29.4%) from the field. All in all, Garnett has posted just a 98.7 Offensive Rating (team points per 100 possessions with him on the court) this year, and a 93.5 Offensive Rating over the last two games.

[sny-box] The Nets were able to keep this game close in the first half ? trailing by only six at the break ? despite shooting only 35 percent from the field. But the Pacers took control in the third quarter, outscoring Brooklyn 30-19, en route to an easy victory.

It looks like Mirza Teletovic may finally get the consistent opportunity to prove why the Nets signed him.

Rather than put their tails between their legs, the Nets have to figure out a way to make up Brook Lopez?s production, now that the team?s starting center will be out for the season. Sure, the Nets have gotten off to a slow start, but the Atlantic Division is very weak, and even without Lopez, Brooklyn still has arguably the best roster if everyone else is healthy and contributing.

Jason Kidd has a few options when it comes to his new starting lineup. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and Kevin Garnett are locks, but Kidd can then fill out the lineup in some creative ways, and one way he looks committed to is leaning on the Bosnian sensation.

With Deron Williams back, the Nets offense was back in business this week:

Shooting: A-

Finally,?shots are dropping for Brooklyn. The Nets shot a stunning 55.7% against Boston, thanks in large part to open looks and a solid paint presence (that has a lot to do with Brook Lopez's return). They followed that up with a 44.6% effort against the Clippers. Williams looking like a top tier point guard is creating space for everyone, and the Nets haven't gotten this many good looks in weeks. Kevin Garnett's shot is finally coming around, though it still won't set the world on fire, and Joe Johnson had a money outing against L.A. Even Paul Pierce showed some vintage looks.

The Nets have cut Andray Blatche loose, as they've encouraged him to use his touch to shoot from a distance more. But is that a mistake?

Last season, Blatche emerged as a terrific option off the bench for the Nets, getting playing time in all 82 regular season games and every playoff game, averaging 19.0 minutes per game in the regular season and a 19.7 in the postseason.

Blatche had a great first season in Brooklyn, shooting 51.2 percent from the field, with a 16.3 rebounding percentage and a 54.7 True Shooting percentage. Most impressively, he finished the regular season with a 21.9 Player Efficiency Rating, good for 13th in the entire NBA, ahead of guys like Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, and even Deron Williams.

In recent years, the Nets have had a bit of a revolving door at the small forward and power forward spots. They've typically had a strong back court, but often times lacked a front court that was a sufficient compliment. Brook Lopez emerged as an All-Star last season as the Nets got back to the NBA postseason, but the two forward spots were still obvious weak spots that needed to be addressed this offseason. And addressed they were.

A lot of times, filling a need works better in theory than in reality, but for Brooklyn, the reality of filling those holes in the front court manifested in a way few could have dreamed of. Out go Gerard Wallace and Kris Humphries, in come future Hall of Famers Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. Suddenly, the Nets' front court is as good on paper as it's been in a long time, and it goes far beyond the two Boston imports.

The trio of Lopez, Garnett and Pierce will get the majority of the attention, and with a combined 26 All-Star selections, that's no surprise. But the big men coming off the bench are no joke either, as Jim Mancari discussed earlier. Andray Blatche is coming off an outstanding first season in Brooklyn, and he may see a lot more minutes this year as part of a "Twin Towers" package alongside Brook Lopez. The two 7-footers have been a dynamic duo when they've played together, and that hasn't gone unnoticed by the coaching staff.

So the Brooklyn Nets acquired two Hall of Famers to team up with three superstars to form easily one of the best ? if not the best ? starting five in the NBA.

The blockbuster trade sending Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets from the Boston Celtics is official, meaning the Nets starting lineup will feature a combined 35 All-Star appearances and be worth $82 million.

Last season, one of the Nets? strengths was the team?s depth. The team received significant contributions from the ?Bench Mob? including Andray Blatche, C.J. Watson, Keith Bogans and at times Jerry Stackhouse.

Brooklyn's Barclays Center is set to host the 2013 NBA Draft, so mark your calendars for Thursday, June 27. But for the Nets, the draft is especially significant because of the team's payroll situation. The Nets won't have much wiggle room in terms of signing free agents, so nailing draft picks over the next few years will be the best way for this team to continue to improve.

On Wednesday night, the Nets defeated the Detroit Pistons by a final score of 103-99.

The Skinny: The Nets? regular starters started this one and looked rusty after having Monday night off. Brooklyn opened the game on a 4-of-14 shooting clip, which allowed the Pistons to take the early lead, but back-to-back dunks from Gerald Wallace put the Nets ahead. From there, the Nets went on a 16-2 run to close the opening frame leading by 11.

Andray Blatche scored eight points in less than four minutes to start the second quarter, allowing Brooklyn to maintain its double-digit lead. Will Bynum caught fire for Detroit, scoring 13 points in the quarter, to cut the deficit to seven. But Mirza Teletovic answered with back-to-back three-pointers, and the Nets led by 12 at the break.

On Wednesday night, the Nets defeated the Portland Trail Blazers by a final score of 111-93.

The Skinny: The Nets came out with great energy ? especially Reggie Evans who had six points and six rebounds (three offensive) in the first five minutes as part of a 16-2 Nets? run. Brook Lopez was dominant in the paint, scoring 11 points in the quarter to help Brooklyn open a 20-point lead after one. Evans finished one point shy of a double-double in the opening frame after tallying nine points and 10 rebounds. Evans himself had seven more boards in the first quarter than the entire Portland team (three).

Andray Blatche started the second quarter on a 7-0 run all by himself to increase the Nets? lead to 27. The Trail Blazers finally gained some confidence at the offensive end, with LaMarcus Aldridge heating up. But that effort made little dent into Brooklyn?s big lead, which was 23 at the break.

On Tuesday night, the Nets defeated the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 108-98.

The Skinny: The pace of this game started off slow at both ends, but the Nets found their groove, as five early offensive rebounds from Reggie Evans helped Brooklyn go on a 12-2 run to open an eight-point lead. The Nets consistently got to the free-throw line (8-of-10) in the opening quarter. Brook Lopez scored four of his 12 first-quarter points from the charity stripe, and the Nets led by nine after one.

Against Brooklyn?s second unit, the Hornets got their act together offensively after a cold first quarter and went on a 12-0 run spanning the quarters to get back within one. But once Deron Williams reentered the game at the 9:47 mark, the Nets went on a 19-7 run to go up 13. Andray Blatche poured in 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting in the second quarter, which helped the Nets maintain their nine-point lead at the break.

NEW YORK ? If one were told that the Nets would get a win without Deron Williams scoring in the fourth quarter and with Brook Lopez not playing a single minute in it, it would be difficult to believe.

By now, we've probably all heard a few takes on Andray Blatche's situation, but the more information that's released, is the more this probably warrants discussing.

It was supposed to be a celebratory day. Brooklyn Nets Center Andray Blatche, who signed a non-guaranteed contract in the off season, made it to Monday, January 7, 2013. The Nets gave Blatche an opportunity at redemption and by 5:00 p.m. on Jan. 7, he'd made it.

On Tuesday night, the Nets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers by a final score of 109-89.

The Skinny: The first quarter started off ugly with both teams shooting poorly from the field and turning the ball over. Deron Williams showed up to play however, scoring eight of the first 11 Nets? points including hitting two three-pointers. He finished the quarter with 10 points, but Philadelphia?s Jrue Holiday outdid D-Will by scoring 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 from the field in the quarter. The Nets led by two after one.

Just hours after dealing with the aftermath of Tuesday morning?s incident, Andray Blatche started the second quarter hot, scoring Brooklyn?s first eight points of the quarter in the first four minutes. But the rest of the team couldn?t buy a basket. The 76ers regained the lead midway through the quarter on a Jason Richardson lay-up. The Nets? starters re-entered and orchestrated a 7-0 run to go back on top with Joe Johnson finding his stroke. Despite shooting 38 percent in the half, the Nets held a one-point lead at the break.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. ??Andray Blatche tweaked his back on Wednesday morning and sat out the second half of practice as a precautionary measure. Afterward, the Nets officially declared that he was suffering from back spasms.

Both Blatche and Brooklyn Nets head coach Avery Johnson said the injury was no big deal. Coach Johnson also said he thought that Blatche would be available to practice on Thursday, while Blatche said that he hoped to be back for Wednesday's second practice. Fortunately, the big man was able to return and participate in Wednesday afternoon's practice session, so clearly, the injury isn't very serious. Still, the true test will be to see how it responds tomorrow and Friday.
