Earlier this week, ESPN Insider projected J.R. Smith to be a top-10 shooting guard in 2013-14. Now, the site has shifted its focus onto the forwards.

Projecting the top 10 power forwards for the upcoming season, analyst Bradford Doolittle placed Carmelo Anthony in the No. 10 spot. According to Doolittle, Anthony's 11 WARP -- the first double-digit offensive efficiency total -- is combated by a poor defensive effort.

"His offensive efficiency spiked with his position shift, and his acceptance of the move," Doolitte wrote. "The downside of the tweak is Anthony's lack of defensive acumen. His defensive rebounding was fine when he was a 3, but one position over, it doesn't look too good. Anthony does, without a doubt, score a lot of points. Make of that what you will."

On Tuesday night, the Nets defeated the New Orleans Hornets by a final score of 108-98.

The Skinny: The pace of this game started off slow at both ends, but the Nets found their groove, as five early offensive rebounds from Reggie Evans helped Brooklyn go on a 12-2 run to open an eight-point lead. The Nets consistently got to the free-throw line (8-of-10) in the opening quarter. Brook Lopez scored four of his 12 first-quarter points from the charity stripe, and the Nets led by nine after one.

Against Brooklyn?s second unit, the Hornets got their act together offensively after a cold first quarter and went on a 12-0 run spanning the quarters to get back within one. But once Deron Williams reentered the game at the 9:47 mark, the Nets went on a 19-7 run to go up 13. Andray Blatche poured in 12 points on 6-of-8 shooting in the second quarter, which helped the Nets maintain their nine-point lead at the break.

Tonight at 7:30 p.m., the Nets will look to rebound from a tough loss Monday night when they host the New Orleans Hornets at Barclays Center.

Brooklyn will have four days off following this game, so a win would garner some much-deserved rest as the Nets gear up for a lengthy eight-game road trip.

A stronger defensive effort will be key if the Nets plan on defeating the Hornets.
