Caris LeVert will not suit up for the Nets in their preseason opener on Sunday against the Wizards as he deals with a patella contusion, head coach Steve Nash told reporters on Saturday.

LeVert had the best season of his career last year, dropping 18.7 points a game, while grabbing 4.2 rebounds and dishing out 4.4 assists -- all career highs. He also averaged 29.6 minutes per game last season and shot 36.4 percent from three-point land, both career bests as well.

While LeVert remains sidelined, Kevin Durant will don a Nets jersey for the first time in a game, and Kyrie Irving will join him as starters for Brooklyn . Re-signed guard Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie, and DeAndre Jordan will also start for the Nets.

The Nets and Wizards tip off in DC at 6:00 p.m.
