Delino DeShields Jr., an outfielder whom the Yankees discussed in trade talks last month, is no longer an active target for the team.

DeShields, 28, has a June 1 opt out with the Texas Rangers, with whom he is currently in Triple-A, and has not exercised it.

In parts of six MLB seasons, he has a .666 OPS. He has a .957 OPS in Triple-A this year.

The Yankees’ interest in DeShields was mostly related to Clint Frazier’s neck issues, which appear to have subsided. He can play center field, but the team did not view him as a solution for the rest of the season at that position.
