Davis Webb has been around some of the game's best quarterbacks, both old and new. He backed up Eli Manning and Josh Allen, and was teammates with Patrick Mahomes at Texas Tech.
But none of them are as smart as Daniel Jones -- at least according to Webb.
"He’s the hardest-working quarterback I’ve been around," the Giants QB told The New York Post at OTAs on Thursday. "He’s probably the smartest quarterback I’ve been around.
"He has really good questions in meetings, takes really good notes, he’s always looking to improve, weight room, practice field, meeting room, he’s just all in, and it’s fun to have a teammate like that. Cares that much and brings the most out of his teammates."
That's all well and good, but Jones has struggled in his three seasons with the Giants, both on the field and with injuries.
Of course, he's shown flashes, but not as consistently as his rookie year. However, Webb thinks he can get back to that form -- and then some.
"He’s a dang good football player," Webb said. "I think he’s gonna have his best year."
