Another game, another triple-double for James Harden

"The Beard" has been on an absolute tear for the Nets recently, and without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving both out on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers, it may have hit its peak. Harden dropped 40 points with 15 assists and 10 rebounds for his fifth triple-double in his last six games.

So you could say the trade for Harden has been going well for Brooklyn right now. But Harden isn't just helping his team with this six-game win streak on their way to the playoffs. He's also rewriting the record books almost immediately for this franchise.

Harden now has more than double the amount of triple-doubles as any other Net in franchise history other than Jason Kidd. Harden currently has 11, while Kidd's long career as a Net generated 61.

That produces two thoughts:

1. Harden is one of the most productive and high-usage regular season players in modern history.

2. We are currently experiencing a 1960s-esque boom in triple-doubles. Last night alone, there were five triple-doubles across the league, which tied a one-night record, which was set...four days ago.

Harden is now up to 25.7 PPG, 11.5 APG, and 9.1 RPG in 27 games as a Net. After an eye sore to start the season in Houston, he's shoe-horned his way back into the MVP conversation.
