The top prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft spoke on Friday at the NFL Combine, with a handful of them detailing their meetings with and/or impression of the Giants, who have the No. 6 pick.
Here are the highlights:
QB Jayden Daniels
"It was fun," Daniels said about his meeting with the Giants. "Going there, being able to talk football. They handed me the clicker and we were just talking ball. It's always fun. I love football, I'm very passionate about it, so whenever I get to talk ball I love it."
As far as what he took away from the meeting:
"Just how energetic the coaching staff was," Daniels noted. "Going in, and getting to know me as a person -- they were very excited about that."
QB Drake Maye
Maye said he's been in contact with Giants legend Eli Manning and is being a "sponge" when they talk.
"I think the biggest thing is just being a sponge, soaking it all in," he said. "I don't have all the answers, I don't know it all."
Regarding his Giants meeting, Maye singled out head coach Brian Daboll.
"I met coach Daboll, big fan of him. Offensive mind, one of the best."
QB J.J. McCarthy
During his Giants meeting, McCarthy got into the X's and O's.
"I drew up a play that I could run in every situation -- third down, fourth down, first and second, all that good stuff -- and the coaches were kind of changing my verbiage and making it their own.
"It was really nice to get a feel of what that offense would be like, and it was actually a lot more simple. It was good."
