The Jets have signed another member of their 2020 NFL Draft class, inking running back La’Mical Perine.

Selected with the 120th overall pick, Perine was the first of three fourth-rounders taken by Gang Green this year, along with QB James Morgan and T Cameron Clark.

The Florida product is the fourth member of the Jets’ class to sign, joining Clark, CB Bryce Hall, and WR Denzel Mims.

The 5-foot-11, 216-pound running back had a very productive career with the Gators, rushing for 2,485 yards with 674 receiving yards and 30 total touchdowns during his four seasons in Gainesville.

Perine figures to give the Jets a solid third running back option in 2020, likely slotting in behind Le’Veon Bell and veteran Frank Gore on the depth chart.

If Bell can be the all-around back the Jets hoped for when they signed him, and Gore can be the straight-ahead, power back, Perine could be the third-down, change-of-pace-type back, as a receiving option out of the backfield as well. He caught a career-best 40 passes for the Gators in 2019.

"I feel like to be able to play in this game you have to be able to contribute on all four phases, and that's something I'm very good at," Perine told the Jets website. "I think I can play all special teams, be a great running back as well and just be versatile all over the field. I will be able to do anything for my teammates and coaches and will be a dependable player."
