Kevin Durant has requested a trade from the Nets, reports SNY's Ian Begley.

The request came hours before free agency was set to begin.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Nets GM Sean Marks is working with Durant and his business manager Rich Kleiman on finding a trade for Durant.

Durant's request came a few days after Kyrie Irving decided to opt in for the 2022-23 season. But with Durant now asking out, the Nets are reportedly making their entire roster available via trade.

As the Nets look to deal Durant, the Phoenix Suns and Miami Heat are two of the teams he has on his list of preferred teams, according to ESPN.

When it comes to Durant potentially landing with the Knicks, people familiar with the Nets' thinking do not expect them to send him to New York, according to Begley.

Before Irving opted in, there were rumblings that Irving's Nets future could impact the Nets future of Durant. And while Irving opted in, he is under contract through just the end of the 2022-23 season, and has interest in joining the Los Angeles Lakers.

Durant, 33, is entering the first year of a four-year, $194 million contract extension he signed before last season. He will make a shade under $43 million during the 2022-23 season, with his salary rising incrementally each year and topping out at $53.3 million in 2025-26, when he will be in his age-37 season.

After signing with the Nets before the 2019-20 season, which Durant missed while recovering from an Achilles tear, Durant has averaged 28.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 6.1 assists in 90 games in two seasons.

With Durant and Irving on the roster, the Nets have not advanced past the second round of the playoffs. Brooklyn was swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs this past season.
