- The Knicks got off to a good start with a Fournier three, but despite plenty of offensive rebounds, the team wasn't able to take advantage of the Mavericks’ turnover-ridden start only going out to a 5-0 lead before Luca Doncic got his team on the board. From there both teams would exchange leads with Robinson getting some easy dunks thanks to great passing from Barrett and Fournier. The Knicks would go out on an 8-0 run thanks to a couple of Burks threes. The Knicks would then take advantage of the mounting Mavericks turnovers to push their lead to double-digits at one point.

The Knicks shot 50 percent from the field to take a 30-21 lead after the first quarter. Nerlens Noel saw his first minutes in 10 games after coming in for Robinson. Randle scored seven points and was notably not booed whenever he touched the ball.

- Both teams started the second quarter cold, scoring a combined six points in the first three minutes. However, the Mavs would go on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to just two against Burks and the Knicks' second unit of Immanuel Quickley, Quentin Grimes, Noel and Obi Toppin. Quickley would get his third foul early in the second and wouldn't see the floor again until the end of the third.

Once the first unit comes back in, the Knicks' offense settled down and went on a 10-3 run to bring their lead back up to double-digits. Although the Mavs shot 47 percent in the quarter to the Knicks' 38 percent, New York was 50 percent (4-8) from three-point range to take a 56-45 lead into halftime. Four Knicks scored double-digits in the first half with Randle (11) and Barrett (11) leading the way followed by Fournier (10) and Burks (10).

- The Mavs got out to a hot start in the third to cut the lead to seven, but the Knicks went on a 14-1 run to build their largest lead up to this point (20). In that stretch, Robinson was wreaking havoc on the board and giving the Knicks easy putbacks and joining the first unit in double-digits. The Mavs would go 5-0 run to force a Knicks timeout. Out of the timeout, the Knicks would settle down and end the third up 84-66.

The third quarter saw the Knicks shoot 67 percent and the Mavs shoot just 38 percent. The Knicks' size advantage was on full display as Robinson on both sides of the floor took over. Robinson scored eight points in the quarter and 14 points up to this point. Barrett also took over offensively, shooting 5-for-5 and scoring 11 in the quarter.

- Both teams made it a point to feed their big men on the inside in the fourth. For the Knicks' Noel, he scored back-to-back buckets in the early minutes. Neither team would shoot particularly well and were turnover-heavy, including a missed dunk by Toppin, in the first few minutes of the final frame. The Mavs would go out to a 5-0 run to force a Knicks timeout. The Knicks were fortunate all game as the Mavs missed open threes and ended up making just five from long range all game. Out of the timeout, Robinson started to impose his will after scoring five straight points and grabbing offensive rebounds.

The Mavs would try and get some easy buckets, but they couldn't stop the Knicks' balanced attack. After a three-pointer from Barrett, the Mavs called a time out with a minute to go and the Knicks' bench was emptied.

- Barrett led all scorers with 32 points and contributed seven rebounds. Randle and Robinson each had a double-double. Randle posted 17 points and 12 rebounds, while Robinson had 19 points and 10 rebounds. Fournier finished with 13 points while Burks had 10 points.

The Knicks shot 48 percent, but held the Mavs to just 40 percent shooting. Dallas shot just 8-for-37 from long range and that led to plenty of transition opportunities.
