The Knicks are still seeking a massive star to turn them into a serious title contender, and are reportedly willing to offer a huge trade package for 76ers megastar Joel Embiid.

According to Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer, the Knicks are open to offering a package "that includes three key players," with Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Mitchell Robinson, and Evan Fournier "all available."

The Inquirer reports that three of the above players would be "paired with two or three first-round picks."

It's logical to think the Knicks would want to part with only one of Randle or Barrett in any such deal.

The Knicks, because of the plethora of draft picks they have in addition to future cap space, are one of a handful of teams who could be able to pull of a deal for Embiid.

However, SNY's Ian Begley notes that it seems unlikely Philadelphia would want to trade Embiid to the Knicks.

Embiid, 29, is under contract with the 76ers through the 2025-26 season and has a player option for 2026-27 for $59 million.

He is set to earn $47.6 million this season, followed by $51.4 million in 2024-25 and $55.2 million in 2025-26.

When it comes to the Knicks' cap sheet, they have just six players under contract beyond 2024-25. Those players are Randle, Barrett, Robinson, Jalen Brunson, Josh Hart, and Donte DiVincenzo.
