Mets RHP Max Scherzer has rejoined the team in New York, transferring his rehab from Florida.

Before Tuesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, Scherzer threw in the outfield out of his delivery before running on the warning track.

He is scheduled to throw live batting practice later this week, which could be the final step he takes before beginning a rehab assignment.

Scherzer, who has been working his way back from a high-grade internal oblique strain, has been throwing bullpen sessions.

Scherzer was placed on the IL on May 21, retroactive to May 19, with the Mets saying at the time that the expectation was that he would miss six-to-eight weeks.

The four-week mark of Scherzer's injury is nearing, meaning he could be about two-to-four weeks away from returning.

But with Scherzer already throwing bullpen sessions and set for live batting practice, it seems he might be back closer to that six-week mark than the eight-week mark.

Along with Scherzer, Jacob deGrom is potentially nearing a rehab assignment, having recently thrown four bullpen sessions, with live batting practice expected soon.
