Switch-hitting 17-year-old Mets shortstop prospect Ronny Mauricio has played in 20 professional games, and he has a hit in every single one of them.

Mauricio, who the Mets signed for $2.1 million as an international free agent last July, is hitting .354/.341/.549 with two homers, six doubles, and two triples this season for the Rookie League GCL Mets.

Ben Badler of Baseball America wrote before the season that Mauricio was a potential breakout prospect

"Mauricio was Baseball America's No. 3 international prospect last year when the Mets signed him for $2.1 million out of the Dominican Republic," Badler wrote. "Since then, Mauricio has grown two inches to 6-foot-4, added much-needed strength to his gangly frame and continues to impress scouts with his ability on both sides of the ball."

Jim Callis of SB Nation wrote before the season that Mauricio is a "switch-hitter with projectable frame, reportedly has arm and range to stay at shortstop as well as good potential as a pure hitter."
