The Nets announced on Thursday afternoon that they have exercised the fourth-year team options on guard Cam Thomas and center Day'Ron Sharpe

Thomas, drafted by the Nets 27th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, has proven himself to be an explosive scorer, though his production has come and gone sporadically throughout his career. He saw his 2023-24 season get off to a great start on Wednesday night when he scored 36 points off the bench in a 114-113 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers. Thomas' 36 points set an NBA record for most points scored by a bench player in a season opener.

Thomas, who now has seven career games of 30-plus points, has career averages of  9.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 17 minutes per game.

Sharpe, drafted 29th overall by the Phoenix Suns in 2021 and subsequently traded to the Nets, has developed into a key reserve player for Brooklyn. The 6-foot-11 center has career averages of 5.3 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks in 12 minutes per game.

Sharpe appeared in 48 games for the Nets last season, making three starts. He had four points, two rebounds and two blocks in the season opener against the Cavs.
