The guard has taken over the Nets' point guard duties with the blessing of Kyrie Irving, and has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week twice already in his short time in New York.

"Clearly an All-Star, an All-World player," Steve Nash said Tuesday before the selections were announced. "He's brought so much to our team. Leadership, playmaking and scoring the ball, he's been outstanding and we're grateful to have him."

The Nets have been clicking as of late, digging themselves out of a 14-12 hole by winning six straight to climb to 20-12, 0.5 games back of the No. 1 seeded Philadelphia 76ers. This is in large part due to Harden's work on the floor, especially with Kevin Durant missing the last four games due to injury.

The nine-time All-Star will be joined by Durant and Irving among the Eastern Conference roster, as the two were named starters last week. The exact teams for the Marc 7 game will be determined via a draft on March 4.

This marks the first time the Nets organization has ever had three players representing the team in the All-Star game at once. Their previous high was two, with Jason Kidd and Vince Carter in 2007, Kidd and Kenyon Martin in 2004, and Derrick Coleman and Kenny Anderson in 1994.

With Durant earning the most votes in the East and becoming captain of one of the teams in this year's format, Irving and Harden have a solid chance of being selected by him before LeBron James, the other game's other captain.

The trio already played together on the same All-Star team once back in 2019, when all three were starters for Team LeBron. Durant was named MVP of that game after his 31-point performance helped lead Team LeBron to a 178-164 win over Team Giannis.
