With training camp nearing, Nets GM Sean Marks weighed in on the discussions the team has had with James Harden and Kyrie Irving about extensions.

"Regarding the extension conversations, we've had very positive conversations with both those guys -- whether it's family members, (other) people, and so forth," Marks told reporters on Tuesday. "I think it always helps to do these things in person. Again, with this being summer, we're very cognizant of letting people have their own time away before we all get back into the swing of things here.

"We're looking forward to sitting down with them over the course of the next week, two weeks, and furthering those discussions."

Marks said earlier this offseason that he was "confident" both Harden and Irving would agree to contract extensions by training camp.

At the moment, Harden and Irving are both locked up through the 2022-23 season.

Both Harden and Irving were banged up in the playoffs as the Nets were ousted by the Milwaukee Bucks in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

As far as Kevin Durant, who nearly lifted the Nets past the Bucks by himself, he already agreed to a massive extension earlier this offseason -- inking a four-year deal.
