The Nets are reportedly interested in adding big man Andre Drummond if he is bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But they will have competition.

According to the New York Times and other outlets, the Nets and Los Angeles Lakers will both have strong interest in Drummond if he reaches a buyout with Cleveland.

It’s possible that the Nets could lose out on Drummond. If so, there is another big man to keep an eye on in Brooklyn: JaVale McGee.

Per SNY sources, McGee remains on Brooklyn’s radar as a possible roster addition as we inch closer to Thursday’s deadline.

Cleveland could trade McGee prior to the deadline or the Cavs could reach a buyout with him.

Brooklyn is interested in McGee if he’s bought out. It’s unknown if Brooklyn has interest in trading for McGee. The Nets have limited options via trade but can have open roster spots to add a player like McGee via buyout.

McGee, 33, is averaging eight points, five rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game off the bench for the Cavs.

He could help bolster Brooklyn’s front line as the Nets look to strengthen their roster for what should be a deep playoff run.

Earlier this month, Yahoo! Sports reported the Nets were among the teams keeping an eye on McGee.
