After not dealing for Lonzo Ball before Thursday's NBA trade deadline, the Knicks will still have interest in trading for Ball around the NBA Draft/offseason, per SNY's Ian Begley.

According to Begley, sources familiar with the conversations around the Ball trade talks with the Knicks expected New York to have renewed interest in trading for him after the season.

The Knicks can also sign Ball as a restricted free agent without surrendering assets, and Ball would have interest in joining the Knicks.

The New York Post first reported that Ball would have interest in the Knicks.

Several teams, including the Chicago Bulls and Denver Nuggets, also had interest in trading for Ball before the deadline, SNY sources confirmed.

There are people in the Knicks organization who have seen Ball as a strong addition, as noted on The Putback. But one of the questions about Ball among Knicks’ decision-makers has been: Is he the point guard of the future for us?

New York will have the cap space to make Ball a competitive offer this offseason if they so choose.
