As the Yankees pursue Baltimore closer Zach Britton, they are still eyeing Toronto starter J.A. Happ, although they have been so far unwilling to pay the price.

But the price has dropped.

According to a person with direct knowledge of the talks, the Jays were asking teams for a top-three prospect (like Yankees prospects Justus Sheffield and Estevan Florial) a few weeks ago, but have now dropped the ask to a more reasonable place.

The Yankees like Happ, but consider him a modest upgrade. Happ could move well in advance of the July 31 non-waiver deadline.
