The Bridgeport Sound Tigers will begin playing in the Atlantic Division next season, the American Hockey League announced as it unveiled their newly realigned divisions on Tuesday.

Bridgeport, the Islanders AHL farm team, played the 2014-15 campaign in the Northeast Division. They will remain in the same division as the Hartford Wolf Pack (New York Rangers) and the Springfield Falcons (Arizona Coyotes), but will see five new clubs enter their division.

Joining the Sound Tigers in the Atlantic Division will be the Hershey Bears (Washington Capitals), Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Philadelphia Flyers), Portland Pirates (Florida Panthers), Providence Bruins (Boston Bruins), and the Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh Penguins).

The Nets (20-23) lost to the Toronto Raptors (23-21) tonight by a score of 104-103.

The Least You Should Know

[sny-box] In a battle of the two top teams in the Atlantic Division, the Raptors held a 94-85 lead with just over eight minutes remaining. But the Nets rallied on the shoulders of Paul Pierce to go on a 9-0 run to tie the game and eventually take the lead.

The Nets (15-22) lost to the Toronto Raptors (18-17) tonight by a score of 96-80.

The Least You Should Know

[sny-box] The Nets struggled through the first half but really picked things up to start the third quarter ? opening up a 10-point lead at the halfway point of the frame.

The Nets have won three of their last four contests, seemingly stabilizing things in Brooklyn... at least for the time being. But, for a team still in desperate need of as many wins as they can get, the next two and a half weeks could give us a glimpse of what we're in store for the rest of the way.

That's because the Nets kick off a pivotal stretch tonight at the Barclays Center. Two of their next three meetings with be with the Sixers, with a home game against the Wizards sandwiched in between. Two tough match ups with the Pacers loom (on the 23 and 28 of December), but outside of them, and arguably a Bulls team on Christmas that's without Derrick Rose, the Nets have finally hit an elongated soft spot in their schedule.

Home against Philly, home against Washington, at Philly, with games against Milwaukee and Sacramento scattered around the Pacers and Bulls meetings. That's a stretch where the Nets can do some damage. Philadelphia has lost six in a row, and the Nets have to make sure that that streak hits seven. Brooklyn is just two games off the division pace, and a hot stretch against beatable opponents could place them in the driver's seat in the division as we turn the calendar to 2014. That's??a huge opportunity.

The Nets enter play tonight trailing the New York Knicks by three games in the Atlantic Division.

That lead has fluctuated all season, but it seems Brooklyn will finally have its chance to catch its crosstown rival.

Deron Williams' health, or lack thereof, has been a major story all season long. Since the All-Star break, though, Williams has looked much better. He's a bit more explosive and is scoring 21.7 points per game, post-break, as opposed to 16.7 points per game, pre-break.

Fortunately, according to Williams, he's feeling much better.

With just over one fourth of the 2012-2013 NBA season complete, the Brooklyn Nets sit at 13-10 ? good enough for second place in the Atlantic Division and fifth place overall in the Eastern Conference.

Not bad for a team that owned a 58-172 record the previous three seasons.
