It's ugly, but it's hard to argue with the naked assessment of Pro Football Focus on the Jets draft picks between the 2008-2010 window ... a group which given more time might be remembered as one of the team's most feeble drafting periods for the Jets in the last 15 years.

Do you agree with their assessment? ?Why?

Cap tip to Lam Jones (how apt!) for sending this on ..

It seems pretty certain that the Jets aren't going to get to spend a lot of money when free agency begins next month, but are there spots on the roster that you'd like to seem them address in free agency now before the draft?

It could be particular starting positions, or even backup spots ... but if you had to choose which three areas of focus would you try to put on free agency?

James Walker writes on ESPN that the Jets need to move on from Tim Tebow and their unwillingness to do so in his mind is troubling.

Why the Jets would extend Tebow-mania in New York is baffling. This experiment was a disaster from the start and it?s time to let it go. The best the Jets can probably get is a seventh-round pick. Is that worth another month or so of Tebow questions, Tebow distractions and Tebow headlines for New York during the offseason?

The smart thing for the Jets to do is release Tebow and get it over with. This was a huge mistake by former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum. Yet, Idzik wants to keep this problem around longer than necessary. It's true, the chances of trading Tim Tebow in the NFL are very slim. ?Maybe the Jets can work out a trade with the Montreal Alouettes?

Yesterday in the New York Post, Bart Hubbuch asked whether or not the Jets should look to Alex Smith as a potential answer in 2013 to their quarterback problems.

But even without a replacement yet for fired general manager Mike Tannenbaum, league sources say they would be surprised if Gang Green doesn?t at least make a call to Smith?s agent in the offseason.
In my opinion, I'd be cautious of Smith and carefully consider what kind of money it would take to get him to New York. ?Smith struggled his whole career until Jim Harbaugh came to San Francisco and then had his best two statistical years in the NFL only with Harbaugh as his head coach. ?Smith has a very talented cast of receivers around him at both the running back spot and a receivers group which peaked in their talent in 2012 with Michael Crabtree, Vernon Davis, Mario Manningham and Randy Moss. ?So how will he do in a different system away from the care of Jim Harbaugh with a different set of receivers altogether?

Alex Smith is an option for the Jets, but based on the amount of money he might want and the level of talent he'd need around him, I don't know if it would be worth the money the team would need to spend. ?The Jets might be better off with a spot starter who has been able to rally some bad teams and whom they might be able to get on the cheap ... a guy like Matt Moore. ?Moore won't be the starter for the Jets for the next ten years, but he can do more with less, wouldn't cost much and could hold the team over until they find a longer term answer.

Day two of the divisional weekend. Leave your thoughts about the games in the comments!

Seahawks at Falcons -- We all know about Matt Ryan and the impressive record that the Falcons put together this season, but I look at the Seahawks and think they have had a tougher season and have won in a more impressive manner. The Falcons played the sleepy NFC South, while the Seahawks were duking it out in the NFC West and have already taken some powerhouses to task like that last minute win over the Patriots. We know what Beast Mode can do and he might be more terrifying on the fast track. If Russell Wilson can keep any mistakes to a minimum against the Falcons, I think they win.

Texans at Patriots -- Does it come down to the quarterbacks? It might, but while the Texans were dominant in the earlier part of the season, they've not been as unstoppable as they were early on. Playing in New England for a cold early evening game might be a decided advantage for the Patriots.

There's a lot of concern among Jets fans that the Jets are going about this the wrong way. That the Jets should be worried about getting their general manager before interviewing offensive coordinators. But I guess if a GM can't pick a coach ... why let him pick a coordinator?

What do you think? Does it matter to you? Do you think that the Jets are taking the wrong approach without a GM in place to start this process?

Could this be a clue about other things? That maybe they're closer than we think when it comes to signing their GM?

Now past the Patriots, in a cruel twist of fate, the Jets schedule lightens substantially. ?As a Jets fan do you still want to cheer them onto victory now through the end of the season, hoping they win every single game - regardless of what it does to their draft status? ?Or do you want them to go on a losing streak to ensure higher draft pick slotting and to potentially make it that much difficult for the front office / coaching staff to move into the 2013 without changes?

Ah, the dilemma of being a fan ... which way do you turn for the final five games?

There's that hackneyed expression about walking a mile in another man's shoes that people love throwing around. But if that man is in the process of rehabilitating a torn ACL and returning to form as the NFL's best cornerback, wouldn't you consider it?

I had no delusions about this game, but a beatdown like that gets me philosophical. Real ontological ish.

Why do I take time every day to write about this dreadful team? Why does this organization hate me so much to put me through this? Does the coaching staff think I have the IQ of a candied yam to keep playing Mark Sanchezand say he gives the team the best chance? I don't even care about chances anymore and neither should the Jets, but why does any of this even matter? Is my existence and the Jets suckiness eternal since they both originate from nothing?

I'm done for the day. I'm going to enjoy time with my family and not agonize over a terrible football team.

With an impressive attention to detail,?ZShock?etched the upcoming Nike Zoom Revis 1 into a precision-cut pendant. Ridges were cut to match the silhouette, detailing the Flywire upper, the No. 24 etched into the midsole, and the detailed traction system. ZShock put together three colors for the pendant: black, silver, and gold. Fingers crossed for a metallic green rendering.

The best thing about the above video, though, is the detailed, 360-degree look we're getting at Darrelle's signature sneaker. The image quality on the glances we've received left a lot to be desired. This is the best look we've had at the sneaker, albeit in black and red, before it drops next month.

So far, the Jets season has been little more than a hot mess, so with this in mind, how has this come to pass? ?There's plenty of blame to go around, so let's explore a few areas and then you can vote (multiple choice, hooray!) in the poll below. ?We'll stick with the greatest hits and let you round out anything else in the comments or on the poll. ?While it might look like it, the point isn't to be an abitrary witch hunt, it's to determine where fans feel like the team needs the most correction come the off-season.

Owner Woody Johnson -- A lot of aspersions have been cast at Woody Johnson over the years, mostly since he championed the Jets ill-fated courtship of Brett Favre. ?Favre of course was with the Jets for one year and dictated his own offense and yet threw as many picks as touchdowns,?allegedly?sexted with Jenn Sterger and some masseuses going from King of New York to persona non grata in less than one year. ?Since then, Woody was enthused with Rex Ryan during their coaching search in early 2009 and brought him into to run the team. ?Woody has also been accused of lack of focus, elevating the importance of ticket sales over football. ?He also might have gone outside the football lines and ruffled feathers in his attention and support of the 2012 US Presidential election.

General Manager Mike Tannenbaum -- For better or worse, Mike Tannenbaum has doggedly sought to find the right talent for the organization. ?Tannenbaum counts Bill Parcells his mentor and is one of the last links to that era of the Jets. ?Since 2006, he has "left no stone unturned," made many (unkept?) promises to players and added talent to the roster through the draft, trades and free agency. ?Tannenbaum has come under fire for potentially short-sighted football decisions (Favre, Tebow), but has also been lauded for masterful trades (Cromartie, Holmes, Sanchez trade up). ?Tannenbaum has taken full responsibility for Vernon Gholston and there's been questions about the strength of recent drafts and free agent classes. ? To be fair, the Jets have been hamstrung in recent years by CBA rules, specifically in the uncapped year. ?In all, Mike Tannenbaum is a master of finding value and isn't afraid to go against the grain to find it. ?Many do point out that his lack of longtime football scouting experience might limit his ability to make the right calls to find players from undervalued (ie undrafted free agents, late round draft) channels.

While there is still plenty of football left to be played, the Jets' season has been painted in bleak light ever since the Miami game in which the Jets ironically won the contest but lost one of their best players which set off a chain of injuries that continue to mount with each passing day. And then there's Tebow (obligatory name reference so you know who I'm talking about). While everyone and their brother in the Jets' locker room has preached that his presence hasn't been a distraction, if you hadn't noticed, the media has managed to pretty much plaster him around the Internet and you can hardly read one article now without HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED being mentioned every other sentence. If you don't understand the severity of the situation, you need to visit NFL.com and their "HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED Zone" (Thanks to Adam for the link).

Owner Woody Johnson, in an interview with CNBC, stated?HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED would play out the remainder of his contract but is that really a viable option at this juncture? Mark Sanchez can be effective with the right weapons but ultimately he's not the answer and HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED, for all his heroics and mystique, has trouble hitting the broadside of a barn door half the time. All of this is to say, despite Johnson's statement, can we really expect?HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED back next season? Rich Cimini seems to think not given the emotional toll his mere presence has caused and because of the numbers--does Tannenbaum, who could very well be gone by season's end, really want to shell out $6 million for a "glorified Brad Smith"?

What do you think JetsNation? Is?HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMED a goner? Or will we continue to be unmercilessly be bombarded by HE WHO WILL NOT BE NAMEDMania?
