GM Joe Douglas continues to bolster his secondary, re-signing S Bennett Jackson for the 2020 season, per The Athletic's Connor Hughes.
Like Arthur Maulet, who re-signed with the Jets as well, Jackson wasn't offered a tender as a restricted free agent. So the Jets signed him to a new deal. Though the details haven't been released yet, the deal should be expected to be for one year.
Jackson's NFL story is one of trial and tribulation, but his dream of making it into an NFL regular season game became a reality in 2019 when he suited up in Week 7 with the Ravens. He'd played in three more weeks for the Ravens after that before returning to the Jets for Weeks 14 and 15.
