Billy King

Never has a man said so little and so much all at the same time.

Over a week after it happened, Billy King finally put a comment on the record that gave a little more insight into the Lawrence Frank reassignment.

"Knowing the inside, we did what we had to do."

So the Brooklyn Nets acquired two Hall of Famers to team up with three superstars to form easily one of the best ? if not the best ? starting five in the NBA.

The blockbuster trade sending Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett to the Nets from the Boston Celtics is official, meaning the Nets starting lineup will feature a combined 35 All-Star appearances and be worth $82 million.

Last season, one of the Nets? strengths was the team?s depth. The team received significant contributions from the ?Bench Mob? including Andray Blatche, C.J. Watson, Keith Bogans and at times Jerry Stackhouse.

Billy King addressed the media yesterday with some news about his point guard, Deron Williams, and his status for the final two games prior to the All-Star break.? King told the media that Williams would be out for both.

King said that Williams has been dealing with synovitis in both ankles and underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy yesterday. PRP is a treatment for aiding the regeneration of ligament and tendon injuries by extracting a small amount of blood and manipulating it before placing it back into the affected joint. This procedure is known to help shorten rehabilitation time and often, it eliminates the need for surgery. It is said to be used to help with the pain associated with arthritis.

Carlesimo interim head coach.?Johnson finished with a 60-116 record (.341 winning percentage) in two plus seasons with the Nets, a far cry from the 194-70 record (.735 winning percentage) he amassed as the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks.

The well-traveled Nets franchise has played in different venues in New Jersey and New York, and Mitch Lawrence of the New York Daily News got a few words in with general manager Billy King. King describes what it feels like for the Nets to finally have a building of their own.

According to Lawrence, the Nets were always viewed as the "co-tenant" of the teams with which they've shared their arena. Now, though, that is no longer the case. There has been some gossip about the Long Island Islanders of the NHL potentially moving into Barclays Centers, but for now, that's just talk.

Barclays is the home of the Brooklyn Nets, and everyone involved with the franchise couldn't be happier.
