The Giants defense knew it would be a tough test today against the Seattle Seahawks, the NFC's top team that bolsters not only a strong running game, but also an offense that effectively utilizes the passing game. ?However, they had no idea that stepping onto the field at MetLife Stadium, they would have to battle not only a team predicted to make it to the Super Bowl, but also their own offense.

With five turnovers on the day, all interceptions by Eli Manning, the Giants defense was put in difficult situations on the field, countless times and although the final score was a blowout, 23-0, the blame cannot be on the defense. a unit that showed the only sign of life in a game that was just painful to watch.

All the blame from the Giants? 38-0 blowout loss against the Carolina Panthers will be centered on the offensive line?s brutal performance in allowing Eli Manning to be sacked seven times.

But the defense also fell apart in the second half ? turning a somewhat close 17-0 halftime deficit into an insurmountable Panthers? lead.

Perry Fewell?s defense was focused all week on containing Cam Newton, just like the unit did last year in the Giants? 36-7 Week 3 win in Carolina. Newton however had other plans this go-around, as he burned Big Blue?s defense with both his arm and his legs.

For the second straight week, the Giants forgot they had a football game to play on Sunday. The Ravens exploited the Giants? defense for a 33-14 blowout victory.

And Corey Webster was one of the main defensive culprits for the Giants.

Play after play, Joe Flacco found Torrey Smith on Webster?s side. Granted, Flacco made some great throws, but for the guy who is supposed to be the Giants? best cornerback, Webster was downright terrible.
