Ralph Vacchiano | Facebook | Twitter | Archive: The Giants don't like change. They prefer stability and patience. They prefer to give their plans a chance to work.

But they also really don't like chaos. And that's the one thing that will truly test their patience with Ben McAdoo and could end up pushing the coach straight out the door.

That may seem crazy just 17 games into his head coaching career, but McAdoo is suddenly on very shaky ground just one year after he led the Giants back to the postseason and to an 11-5 record. His job should be in no jeopardy at all just one-third of the way through Year 2, even though the Giants are 0-5 and headed towards at least 0-7.

Giants P Brad Wing has won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second straight week, the NFL announced Wednesday morning

Wing becomes the first player in Giants history to win Special Teams Player of the Week in consecutive weeks.

The 25-year old punted the ball seven times during New York's 17-6 victory over the Lions on Sunday, and finished with an average of 42.6 yards per punt with two landing inside the 20-yard line and his longest punt going 57 yards. The Lions averaged just 2.8 yards on four returns.

Giants P Brad Wing has been named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance during New York's 10-7 victory over the Dallas Cowboys in Week 14, the league announced Wednesday morning.

Wing had nine punts against Dallas and finished the game with a 43.2-yard gross average and a 42.9-yard net average. His longest punt went for 57 yards, and five of his kicks were downed inside the 20-yard line. The Cowboys managed just three total yards on three punt returns.

This is the sixth Player of the Week award won by the Giants this year, and the second one on special teams; Janoris Jenkins was named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week in Week 2. Odell Beckham Jr. was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week in Week 6, while the Giants have won three defensive awards -- Landon Collins in Weeks 7 and 9, and Jason Pierre-Paul in Week 12.

The Giants have dry-docked kicker Josh Brown, whose domestic violence case has been reopened after new details surfaced out of his home state of Washington. The Giants have replaced Brown with veteran PK Robbie Gould for the game in London. More discipline is expected in the coming days, but the news left some of Brown's teammates and coaches stunned.

This was going to be a tough spot for the Giants right from the start. Going on the road to pick up the pieces from their sloppy loss to the Redskins was going to be hard enough. But in always-loud Minnesota, against one of the NFL's best defenses, and one that has haunted Eli Manning throughout his career?

All things considered, it could've been a lot worse.

Does this season seem weird to you so far? Maybe, maybe not. The Giants are 2-1 to start the season, playing three close games and doing some uncharacteristic things that fans aren't accustomed to. Here are five examples:

The 53-man roster is set (for now), and the New York Giants believe they will be back on the road to success after missing the postseason the past four years. Their roster has been upgraded in many key areas, with the exception of the offensive line and a blocking tight end.

But who will be the stars and the face of this club in 2016? It's clear QB Eli Manning and WR Odell Beckham Jr. will be among the top players in the league at their positions, but who else will garner Pro Bowl interest this year?

On offense, no one can possibly expect any of the linemen to get any type of recognition. Center Weston Richburg is considered one of the best players at his position, but the negative advance reviews on the Giants' offensive line is going to hurt his chances. The rest of the group has either struggled or was injured this summer, so the offense would have to play lights out for them to get any consideration.

The Giants, wanting no questions or drama in regards to their specialist positions this summer, locked up the final piece Monday when they inked punter Brad Wing to a three-year, $6.45 million contract. Wing is also the holder on field goal and PATs.

The club nailed down placekicker Josh Brown with a two-year deal worth $4 million in April. Long snapper Zak DeOssie, who had not missed a game in his first eight seasons with the team but was limited to just 12 games last season due to a wrist injury, was brought back for another season with a deal worth $1.1 million.

So why did the Giants sign Wing, who was very average in his first year with the club? Simple: He may not have the strongest leg in the league, but he is exactly what the team was looking for in terms of establishing field position.

Lachlan Edwards and Tom Hackett are two laid-back guys from Down Under trying to get a leg up in the New York Jets' punting competition.

The Australian-born players are squaring off this offseason for a job in the NFL after successful college careers in the United States.

"It's the Aussie showdown in New York City, I guess," Hackett said with a smile during Jets rookie minicamp.
