THE GAME

The Giants (1-6) vs. the Los Angeles Rams (5-2) at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 1 p.m. ET.

THE WEATHER

That dark cloud that's been hovering over the Giants all season? Yeah, it'll be there Sunday. The forecast calls for "considerable cloudiness" and intermittent rain with a temperature in the low 60s. As if the crowd wasn't going to be small enough for this one ...

WHAT IT MEANS

There are really two ways this season can go for head coach Ben McAdoo. His team can show some fight, keep the games competitive and maybe steal a win or two. Or his team can surrender and start getting blown out. Now that they're back from their bye, whichever way they start out is likely where the rest of the games are headed. They are very undermanned now, and they know they have nothing to play for, so motivation won't be easy. Neither will be responding when things go wrong (and things will go wrong). It will be a test of McAdoo's coaching and leadership ability. How the team reacts may determine whether he keeps his job.

With center Weston Richburg among seven Giants players inactive for Sunday's game against the Denver Broncos, New York adjusted its offensive line to feature Brett Jones at center, DJ Fluker at right guard, John Jerry at left guard and Justin Pugh at right tackle.

Richburg is out due to a concussion after missing practice on Wednesday and Thursday.

The Giants also ruled defensive end Olivier Vernon (ankle), wide receiver Sterling Shepard (ankle), linebacker Jonathan Casillas (neck), defensive end Romeo Okwara (ankle), running back Paul Perkins (ribs) and quarterback David Webb out.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - The Giants appear to be bracing for another offensive line shakeup -- and maybe one on the defensive line, too.

Three key players on those lines were missing from the 0-4 team's practice on Wednesday -- center Weston Richburg and defensive ends Olivier Vernon and Jason Pierre-Paul. Richburg is in the NFL's concussion protocol and it seems unlikely he'll be available for the game against the 0-4 Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Vernon is dealing with ankle injury and JPP has a shoulder injury that apparently got worse over the last few days...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - John Mara came out swinging at the end of the 2013 season, when he famously declared "I think our offense is broken right now." It wasn't long before Kevin Gilbride was out as offensive coordinator and Ben McAdoo was in, and sweeping changes had begun.

What's most amazing about that is that Gilbride's "broken" offense in 2013 was actually a higher scoring attack than McAdoo has produced in his 19 games in the dual role of play-caller and head coach of the Giants. Gilbride's "broken" offense averaged 17.5 points per game (once defensive and special teams touchdowns are factored out). Since the start of last season, McAdoo's offense has averaged 16.6.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - For the second straight day, injured cornerback Janoris Jenkins wasn't even outside for Giants practice, casting a huge shadow of doubt over whether he'll be able to play in Philadelphia on Sunday afternoon.

Jenkins suffered a hand and ankle injury in the Giants' opener, which apparently got worse as he practiced last week. Because despite practicing fully all week, he was unable to play in the Giants' loss to Detroit on Monday night. He tried to test out his injured ankle with trainers watching about two hours before the game, but they ultimately decided he could not go...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Odell Beckham, Jr. has taken yet another step towards his return to the Giants.

The star receiver was out on the field again on Friday as the Giants began their second full practice of the week, participating in all the individual drills during the half hour the practice was open to the media. He was joined by right tackle Bobby Hart, who missed practice on Thursday with his own sprained ankle.

Loud Mouths: Boom or Bust 00:02:29

There is no way anyone can underestimate the Giants anymore.

Maybe they did still have a lot to prove when they rode six straight wins against (mostly) inferior opponents to an 8-3 record. But on Sunday night they beat a legitimately good team in the now-11-2 Dallas Cowboys. No team had been hotter. No team is more well-constructed. And the Giants have now beaten them twice.

What does that mean? It means that even if you think the Giants are still flawed (which they are), they have to be considered one of the best teams in their conference (which they are). It also means that, if they play up to their capabilities they can probably beat anyone in the NFL. The Giants were essentially no-shows on offense on Sunday night except for one glorious moment of Odell Beckham being Odell Beckham, and they were still good enough to take the Cowboys down.

Giants OL Marshall Newhouse says he partially tore the MCL in his left knee, but he believes he can play on it, according to Zach Braziller of the New York Post.

Newhouse started at left guard for the Giants in Week 11 for the first time in his career, after starting guard Justin Pugh and backup guard Brett Jones were both ruled inactive.

Newhouse suffered the injury during Sunday's win over Chicago, but only missed one series before returning to the field.

THE GAME: The Chicago Bears (2-7) at the Giants (6-3) at the Meadowlands in East Rutherford, N.J. on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 1 p.m. ET.

THE WEATHER: Whoa! Bundle up. It's going to be nasty on Sunday, if the forecasts are indeed right. At the moment, the temperatures are going to be in the 40s with winds whipping around from 20-30 miles per hour. Pretty much, it's exactly the kind of weather you're hoping for if you're an underachieving team hoping to pull off an upset against a team that passes twice as much as it runs the ball.

When the Giants signed center Brett Jones in February 2015, all parties knew there would be a steep learning curve for the young Canadian Football League star.

Jones was fresh off a Grey Cup victory as a member of the Calgary Stampeders, and in his first two seasons had earned not only a championship ring but also Rookie of the Year in 2013 and was named the league's top offensive lineman in 2014.

Giants OL Justin Pugh has a sprained MCL and will likely miss two-to-four weeks, a source told SNY.tv's Ralph Vacchiano.

Pugh will be getting a second opinion.

He left Sunday's win over the Eagles during the second quarter, when a teammate appeared to roll onto the back of his left leg. He was able to walk off the field, but was walking with a significant limp. Pugh did not return.
