Mats Zuccarello spoke with John Giannone on MSG after the Rangers win over the Panthers:

  • On the third period, "we didn't play up to our standards for the first two periods for sure, during the season you go through high levels and low levels and I don't think we are playing our best hockey now but we come up with a win and that is important for a good team. When you are in a drought you can still stack up the wins so we will take the two points and go forward."
Zuccarello was awarded the Broadway Hat. (NYR)

  • On his goal, "it's a good pass by Brass and Kreids and I just go to the net and don't really do much. I don't get a lot of those goals so it's nice to get a goal from there, wish I could get more."
  • On first goal in 10 games, 2nd in 20, "I am more of a passer first so I don't care who scores the goals. I can feel the pressure all around that I need to shoot more and score some more goals. I agree and have not been playing up to my standards for a lot of the season so it's always nice to get a goal."

10:28PM: Quotes via the Rangers:

Alain Vigneault on tonight?s game??The first half of the game, we might have been up 2-0, 2-1 after they scored. That was mostly because of Hank?s [Henrik Lundqvist] play. We can analyze the game and know that even though we were up 2-0 after the first period, they had been the better team. I thought for the second half of the game we played well, played a fast pace, and took over in the second half. We were able to carry the play into the third and win the game.?

Henrik Lundqvist on getting hit with the puck??I was getting ready for the shot and I could feel a stick pull up my helmet so I lost vision of the puck. I had a bad feeling because I could kind of see the puck coming, then I lost track of it. When I got hit, it?s obviously extremely painful and it?s hard to breathe for a couple minutes. I got very lightheaded and got a little worried the first minute or so but they told me just to breathe and I slowly started to feel better. The first couple of minutes it was more for me to see if I was going to start to feel better after a while and slowly I did. I had some headaches the rest of the game but I guess that was normal because I couldn?t breathe there for a little bit. That was a reaction.?

On MSG, Henrik Lundqvist said of Kreider, "when he plays like that, with his speed, it's hard to stop that. I see it in practice everyday and coming down the wing and he is big and strong and fast and when he plays the puck in the right area he can skate into it and it's tough for a defender and he has a great shot and it's a great game for him. He really stood out."

On MSG, Brian Leetch said of Talbot, "In the limited amount of time, less than 30 games, his numbers are outstanding. He is like Hank in that there is a confidence in the net, it's nice to see your goalie make the saves and cover the rebounds."

He added, "when a goalie gets shutout he definitely earns it. He had to make some saves, but I look at this and he will probably say that it was a team shutout."

Brassard spoke with Pierre McGuire after the game and said:

  • On the winner, "nothing special, we just shot the puck. We had a chance on the 4 on 3 in the last game and we didn't get it done so we went out and shot the puck and good things happen."
  • Was there ever doubt, "no, it was pretty positive to be honest. From the bench, everything from the coaches was positive and we are playing a really good team and found a way to win, it's good."
  • Was it a playoff feel, "all games are intense and there are no easy nights. Each night you need to work 60 minutes and sometimes you go to OT for two points. We are facing a lot of adversity right now with injuries but guys are coming back and our young players have been good and we are trying to get this thing rolling."
  • On Rick Nash, "I've seen him play well but this year I feel he is on a mission. Every night I feel he is dominant and that is what we need for our team, he is our best player and that is what he has been showing to everyone this year."

Duclair said on MSG, with video, below:

  • On the third period, "there was, we have a lot of leadership in the locker room. We were down three but still had hope. It was a matter of being committed and having hope."
  • On his goal, "I was the first guy back so I went to the middle and had outside speed and a great pass from Hunny and I saw the opening low blocker and it squeezed through and probably the best moment of my hockey career."
  • Can you put it into words, "a lot of stuff is going through my mind. A big goal ties it up and as I went back to the bench I was yelling to the boys, let's go, keep going. It's a big goal for myself and for the team as well."
  • "Zucc and Brass had been great for us in the third and gave us energy and scored huge goals. They made some nice plays and lifted the bench and gave us momentum."
  • "On what he will do with the puck, "probably go home to mom and dad, I couldn't do it without them."
  • "My dad is probably pretty pumped and my mom is probably crying."

Henrik Lundqvist said on MSG, "we all needed it. We wanted to win at home in front of our fans. You build a lot of confidence when you win at home and you want this to be a place of winning and playing well. We needed 60 minutes where we played a solid hockey game and we did tonight. They were missing a lot of top guys and we knew we had a chance at winning if we played the right way and the right way isn't always about taking chances but about making reads and I think we did a great job of that."

  • On the goal, "we got the puck in and protected it well and used each other down low and cycled it well and when Boyler got it, I let him know that I was there and he made a great play."

  • On him scoring, "like any player you want to do your job and you take pride in doing your job and doing it well and in games like this every bit counts."
