Jorge Posada apologized on Thursday for comments he made on Wednesday regarding Alex Rodriguez, PED use, and the Hall of Fame (CBS Sports, May 14).

"I tried to text him yesterday," Posada said of Rodriguez during an appearance on WFAN. "I feel like I was cornered into this answer. I know better. I was really caught off-guard.?He knows how I feel about him," Posada continued. "And I would like to ? if I caused him anything, I would like to apologize...I felt like the guy kept pushing towards that response, and I should have known better."

Posada had said in an interview on Wednesday morning with "CBS This Morning" that PED users, including former teammate Rodriguez, should be kept out of Cooperstown (CBS New York, May 13).

?We?re rolling right now,? he said. ?We?ve got some momentum, and we dug ourselves a pretty deep hole, but the NFC East on the whole is struggling so we still have a shot.?

Hall of Fame TE and CBS studio analyst Shannon Sharpe gave a stinging criticism of New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick after the coach blew off a postgame interview after last night's AFC Championship Game.

The Patriots were represented by DB Devin McCourty instead. Belichick did, however, speak at the podium later on.

"There's something to be said about being gracious in defeat," Sharpe said on the air, as per USA Today. "We've seen the New England Patriots five times in the last 12 years be victorious. And we've seen the opposing coaches that lost come out and speak to our Steve Tasker. Coach Cowher did it when they lost. We saw this last week (after New England defeated Houston)....Bill Belichick makes it very easy for you to root against the Patriots. You can't be a poor sport all the time. You're not going to win every time. And he does this every time he loses. It is unacceptable."

With no Giants game until tomorrow night, local fans will be treated to only two broadcast games this afternoon and one tonight. And what a trio of beauties they are, too. Today might be a good day to get some chores done.

The Cardinals take their dysfunctional offense and seven-game losing streak to MetLife Stadium to face the sinking Jets, who will be without their most fervent and visible fan (Fireman Ed) for the first time in 30 years. The place will be a ghost town today. Tickets can be had on StubHub for as low as $20.

Over at CBS Sports Adam Gretz asks a question that's been on Islander fan's minds all summer -- what can be expected from Brad Boyes this season? Gretz has two interesting points:

A couple of things to consider:

1) When Boyes had his two best seasons his shooting percentages in those seasons were 20 percent (his 43-goal season) and 15.8 percent (his 33-goal season), by far the best of his career and numbers he's probably never going to duplicate. He topped even 10 percent just one other time in his career and has been below that mark in each of the past three seasons. Even if he plays alongside Tavares and Moulson all season they're not good enough to boost his shooting back up to that sort of level. That's because no center is.

Clark Judge of CBSSports.com is a writer who's been around the NFL block a few times. When he writes something, I usually read read it.

Recently, Clark was in Albany and turned his focus on the Giants.? He listed the things he loves and hates about Big Blue.

Don't take offense. He loves a lot more than he hates. His assessment is pretty fair.
