Jones to Be Flown to NYC Today

According to the Baton Rouge Advocate, alcohol is being ruled out as a factor in last Friday's SUV accident in New Orleans involving Giants' safety Chad Jones.
"...New Orleans Police spokeswoman Shereese Harper said the officers who responded to the scene at just past 6 a.m. Friday on Carrolton Avenue in Mid-City interviewed Jones and the two passengers with him before he was transported to LSU Public Hospital.

?The officers on the scene had no reason to believe alcohol was involved,? Harper said.

Harper also said Jones? blood-alcohol content was never tested. Earlier reports of toxicology tests were inaccurate. Toxicology levels are measured only on the deceased.

But the Giants still cannot escape the injury cloud that has been following them around for what now seems like an eternity. They stole a Super Bowl three seasons ago and now it is feared the football gods are making them pay for it....

For the second straight week, the Giants lost a player to a devastating injury.? Last week, WR Domenik Hixon blew out his knee on the virgin turf of the New Meadowlands Stadium.? This week, rookie safety Chad Jones nearly lost his leg in a one-vehicle auto accident.

Jessie Armstead: former linebacker and currently a special assistant to the coaching staff.
