The Friday after Thanksgiving is always a laid-back day with very little excitement. This year, there is no excitement in the land of the Giants. They are officially out of the play off picture at 3-8 and are headed into NFL obscurity in a season where most teams are talking about how they can still grab a playoff spot.

The Giants will be practicing today in preparation for their trip to Jacksonville. They will head down to Florida tomorrow to play perhaps one of the NFL's most meaningless games of the year. FOX is only televising the game in the Jacksonville and New York markets, with former Giant David Diehl providing color commentary alongside a play-by-play man that I'm sure most Giant fans have never heard of, Justin Kutcher.

We were told that Michael Vick would be starting for the Eagles against the Giants this Sunday but that plan is still only a tentative one according to Philadelphia head coach Chip Kelly.

"Mike took some snaps in team, which was the first time in two weeks," Kelly said via conference call today. "He had done some seven-on-seven before that. He looks like he?s progressing and we?ll evaluate as we go through Wednesday, Thursday and Friday here and see what he can do and can?t do."

Each week, I will be taking a look at the Giants? media notes to pull out some interesting facts about the upcoming opponent.

The Giants hope to get into the win column Sunday at 1 p.m. when they host the Philadelphia Eagles, who have dropped three straight games after an opening week win.

The Giants pounded the Eagles 42-7 in Week 17 last season, but that game had no real meaning for either side. However, Sunday?s game has huge implications for two teams desperately trying to stay alive in a weak NFC East.

from SNY contributor Craig Santucci

Football has always been played offensive vs. defense, eleven of your best players lined up against eleven of my best players, unless you?re the Philadelphia Eagles new head coach and ?football innovator? Chip Kelly.

The NFL will release its schedule tonight at 8 p.m. In honor of this annual occasion in which we mark our calendars and cancel plans in advance of the fall, here are the games we're looking forward the most in 2013.

1. Denver Broncos

It's not a question the most intriguing game of the 2013 schedule will be the Manning Bowl, pinning up brother against brother in one of the league's most cherished match-ups.

New Giants tight end Brandon Myers was one of 26 players to be selected to the NFL.com's All-Underrated Team earlier this week.

With the Oakland Raiders last season, Myers hauled in 79 passes, the highest mark in the AFC.

Big Blue signed Myers to a one-year contract within days of losing unrestricted free agent Martellus Bennett to the Chicago Bears.
