Pierre LeBrun, Darren Dreger, Bob McKenzie and Gino Reda discuss the latest rumors on Insider Trading: (TSN)

  • On Paul Stastny, "They were contacting teams and telling them they were out. Winnipeg is out and now it comes down to fit and money and I think it comes down to three options, 1) re-sign in Colorado which is still what I think is the strongest move if the Avs raise their offer and I think they will in the next 24 hours. 2) St. Louis is very intriguing, he still has a home there, I think they will push hard and I don't think they will offer him term but they will offer him top dollar on a shorter term deal, 3) is hitting the lottery and going for the longest term and most money."
  • On Jarome Iginla, "Boston would like to have him back and he would like to go back but Boston has cap issues and they don't know if they can do it to the point that they have started kicking tired on Radim Vrbata. As for Iginla, he will sleep on it and whittle down his list, Detroit, Tampa, Minnesota is interested and there are more than that and is it a 1-year deal or 2-year deal and Iginla is drawing attention."
  • On Matt Niskanen, "He is the most sought after, righthander and put up a lot of points but it is going to cost you, 6-7 years and likely between $6 to $6.5 million. Tampa will make an offer, they cleared up space, need a righty, I don't think Tampa will offer the most but they will make a big push. His list is being cut down."
  • On Dan Boyle, "Tampa is in the market for a veteran and Dan Boyle has been popping up. His list is down to 5 teams and we know that he wants a two-year deal and will probably get a two-year deal, probably at $5 million or better but list includes Tampa Bay, Toronto, Detroit, Montreal and the Rangers."
  • On Anton Stralman, "Stralman is not close with the Rangers and the Rangers are going to make one last push with him whether it's Monday night or Tuesday morning. At the end of the day he has more term and more money, between $4.5 million to $5 million elsewhere."
  • On Christian Ehroff, "he is a left shot who plays on the right side and he won't be looking for as much money or term as Niskanen but probably in the five-year range at $5 million plus per year, he wants to play on a chance to win. He is looking at Anaheim, Tampa or Pitt or Detroit."
  • On the Flames, "full credit to Brad Treliving who made a few interesting offers where Carolina would send Cam Ward and their first round pick, seventh overall, he also made a pitch to the Coyotes to where they would take?Ribeiro for the 12th overall and that wouldn't go because?Ribeiro wouldn't waive to go there."

On the Rangers, Darren Dreger said,"they have been disappointing this season, that's obvious, and they are still trying to figure out if they fit with the contenders. They still have needs, a top-four defenseman who can help their power play and and in a perfect world add another level of grit, so a top nine forward."

He adds "to do that, what are they willing to part with? They are looking at a Dan Boyle type of player from the Sharks who can certainly fit their need on the back end."
