The Giants added more depth to their secondary on Monday, signing veteran S Mike Thomas to a two-year deal, per ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Thomas, 28, is a five-year veteran who was primarily a special teamer with the Dolphins. He has made 55 special teams tackles over the past four seasons, which is tied for the league lead. On defense, Thomas has the ability to play both the strong and free safety positions.
The Standford product was also a captain for the Dolphins, which attests to his off-the-field nature as well. His strong locker room presence is a quality GM Dave Gettleman wants in his players this season.
