The Nets announced this morning that Deron Williams will miss tomorrow's game with the Golden State Warriors due to continued problems with his ankles.

Williams received both cortisone and platelet rich plasma therapy in his ankles, something he underwent last year as well. He will be re-evaluated later this week.

According to this official press release, Deron had a cortisone shot in the ankle joint of his sprained left ankle, and platelet rich plasma (or PRP) injections in the lateral ligaments of that ankle. His right ankle is not sprained, but he had injections of cortisone and PRP in that ankle as well to reduce inflammation.

It appears the media email sent to fans this morning about the status of Brook Lopez and Deron Williams was indeed correct, and the hits just keep coming.

The Nets have now officially confirmed that Lopez and Williams will sit out tonight's game with respective ankle injuries, and Paul Pierce is also out for tonight's game with a sore groin that he apparently injured in the second half of last night's game.

As if that weren't a big enough blow, the Nets also announced that Kevin Garnett will sit out tonight's game with an ankle injury of his own, suffered after he collided with Lopez late in the fourth quarter after Lopez had fallen down injured.

Last night, Deron Williams sprained his left ankle in the first quarter and did not return.

Late in the fourth quarter, Brook Lopez injured his ankle in an eerily similar fashion, stepping on another player's foot.

This morning, in an email to fans seen here, the Nets apparently broke the news that both Williams and Lopez will not suit up for tonight's game with the Los Angeles Clippers, as they rest their injured ankles:

New York ? With how well Deron Williams has played recently, just imagine how dangerous the Brooklyn Nets can be if Joe Johnson returns to full strength.
