Another nice day in store for the denizens of the NY Metro Area today. Go out and enjoy it. The NFL is going underground for awhile. All minicamps have concluded and players are not due back here until July 26 for training camp.

There is news, however. The Giants are always looking to tweak their roster. Reports of them having interest in two free agents - LB Desmond Bishop and FB Vonta Leach - are dominating the blogs and rumor mills.

Pat Kirwan of CBSSports.com is reporting that LB Desmond Bishop, who was released by the Packers earlier this week, is considering signing with several teams including the Giants.

From Rotoworld: Free agent ILB Desmond Bishop tells CBS Sports' Pat Kirwan that he "may consider" signing with the Giants.Bishop could also consider the Jaguars or Packers. He'd be a monster upgrade on Mark Herzlich or Dan Connor at middle linebacker for the G-Men. Kirwan gets the sense that Bishop will pick a team by the end of Thursday night. His only known visits have been to the Vikings and Chiefs on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. The soon-to-be 29-year-old would be a fit with any of the five squads.

The New York Giants will host Steve Beauharnais during a local Pro Day on Wednesday, according to reports.

The former Rutgers linebacker and Saddle Brook, N.J. product was an All-State player while at St. Joseph High School (Metuchen, N.J.), and has quickly climbed draft boards after a strong outing during the Scarlet Knights Pro Day in March.

Starting in all 13 contests during his senior campaign at Rutgers, Beauharnais notched the third-highest totals in tackles (83), and ranked among the Big East leaders in tackles for loss (16), sacks (5) and interceptions (3).
