"Brodeur will rejoin the club in one week and his future will be addressed at that time," the team said in a statement.
Brodeur, 42, is 3-3 with a 2.87 goals-against average and .899 save percentage in seven games with the Blues. He left the Devils after 20 seasons in which he won three Stanley Cups and four Vezina trophies.
Brodeur signed with the Blues Dec. 2 after goalie Brian Elliott was injured. Elliott returned Dec. 30 and Brodeur has been a healthy scratch the past five games behind Elliott and Jake Allen.
