The Devils made three trades prior to the 3 p.m. ET trade deadline Wednesday.
New Jersey obtained D Dalton Prout from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for D Kyle Quincey and F Shane Harper from the Florida Panthers for D Reece Scarlett, the team announced Wednesday. The Devils also dealt F P.A. Parenteau to the Nashville Predators for a sixth-round pick.
Devils GM Ray Shero said Parenteau's recent finger injury had no bearing on what the Devils received in the trade.
Prout, 26, has tallied three assists in 15 games with Columbus this season.
Harper, who scored twice in 14 games with the Panthers, will report to New Jersey's AHL affiliate in Albany.
Quincey had four goals and eight assists in 53 games in his first year in New Jersey. Parentau scored 27 points in 59 games with the Devils.
