Devils forward Taylor Hall scored his first two goals with the team Monday night, helping lead New Jersey to its first win of the season.
Hall was scoreless through his first two games with the team, but notched two power-play goals in the second period in the 2-1 win over the Ducks at Prudential Center.
"It's fun to not only get the first win, but to get our power play going," Hall said, according to NHL.com's Mike Morreale. "The energy in the rink was great. Everyone was in red and every chance they got, they were on their feet."
The goal he redirected in at 16:46 of the middle period proved to be the game-winner, as the Devils hung on for a two-point night.
Head coach John Hynyes spoke highly of the forward acquired in the offseason from the Oilers in exchange for defenseman Adam Larsson.
"He brings energy to your team and plays with passion," Hynes said. "It's easy to coach a guy like that because, while he's a high-end offensive player, he's also a reliable guy every shift."
